Came to top off our anniversary outing with some fresh cake! Husband got Carrot Cake, I got Lemon, and we both got Barney's Balckout. Sooo scrumptious! We've never ever been disappointed when we come here. Everything is so fresh and tasty. Plus, the slices are so big you can't finish it in one sitting. They also have rice krispy treats!Food: 5/5
First time here. Delicious. Anyone who loves baked goods should definitely try this wonderful place. I felt like I was on cloud nine. I had the lemon blueberry cheese cake, friend had coconut cream cake, and a New York cheese cake. Fun secret in Salem. Skip dessert at the restaurant if you go out to eat and treat yourself here. Deliciousness is not on the super sweet side. Each bite melted, and when I ate my last bites several hours later. It still held up. Go, go, go and enjoy.
My family and I have always loved coming here. One of my favorites has always been the Tiramisu, but as announced they have changed the recipe. I decided to try it, and the coffee mousse is good, but has too much whipped cream for a Tiramisu. Combined with the chocolate cake it tastes more like just a chocolate cake. The flavor of the mousse is lost. The Barney's Blackout appears to have changed from a dark chocolate that wasn't very sweet to a milk chocolate cake with milk chocolate frosting. Also, the size of slices recently has been significantly reduced which makes the increased prices more difficult to justify. ***THANK YOU FOR REPLYING TO MY REVIEW*** THE DESCRIPTION ON FACEBOOK SAYS ESPRESSO MOUSSE WHICH IS REALLY GOOD. I THINK THE CHOCOLATE COVERING OF THE OLD ONE WAS BETTER THAN A LOT OF WHIPPED CREAM, BUT THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT YOU WLL SOAK THE LADYFINGERS MORE. ABOUT THE OTHER SLICE OF CAKE, I SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR THE BLACKOUT CAKE AND MAYBE SINCE THEY WERE IN SUCH A HURRY THAT THEY GAVE ME THE PIECE YOU MENTIONED. I DON'T KNOW IF IT HELPS YOU BUT IT WAS CHECK #63 TODAY AT 12:22 PM. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AT CLIENT'S COMMENTS AND TRYING TO RESOLVE OUR INCONVENIENCES.
I purchased the birthday flavor gluten-free cake. It was horrible. The Flavor was not good, the texture was like eating a dry sticky plain biscuit. The frosting was like Cool Whip. I’ve always liked the cakes there. But this gluten-free cake was the worst cake I have ever eaten. There used to be a chocolate gluten-free cake that was very good. I do not recommend the current gluten-free cake.
We have purchased cakes from here and they have always been absolutely delicious. Today we went in for lunch. The service was friendly but a tad slow not a big deal since we were not in a hurry. We had sandwiches which were all very tasty.Food: 4/5
My first time and it was totally worth the drive. Drove from West LinnGreat afternoon with friends here! **Update** made the trip down specifically to come here and again, it didn't disappoint! I came with a group of 8. I showed up 15 minutes before the group and they were able to accommodate. Super friendly staff, tons of dessert options. Great shop, it's a must of you haven't yet tried. Love this gem!
Absolutely the most amazing cakes in Salem. We stopped in at 8 pm for some amazing treats. The staff were very friendly and helpful. If you ever have time on the road for life, stop in and get yourself an amazing treat. If there is a one-time birthday cake gift for someone, then you must get it from here. I wish you all well my fellow Google travelers on the road to life.
Delicious desserts, great customer service, and a lovely environment.Food: 5/5
This place is fantastic. We went for lunch and ordered the panini special, chicken curry salad, a pb chewy bar and two beverages. The chicken curry was well seasoned and came with fruit. The fruit was ripe and petite cut. This should really be the standard of how to cut all fruit in restaurants. The special was a “Bobbie sandwich”. The Turkey was paper thin and there was plenty of it. It also had a thin layer of cream cheese, and some cranberry. The bread was crispy but not greasy and there was a side of chips. The peanut butter chewy bar was good but almost too cold to bite through. The service was good. I would recommend this place for lunch. It’s clean, the food is excellent and there’s always parking. Our total was $32. Also… you can get cakes here. Big cakes. They are around $50 per cake but worth the expense. I’ve ordered four different cakes and they were all good. Our least favorite was the red velvet and our favorite was champagne raspberry. They were all so big , we couldn’t eat them fast enough and so froze some slices. They defrosted perfectly.
We got our wedding cakes from them and they were AMAZING!! My husband and I stop in every time we’re in the area. And all of our guests loved them! Everyone was asking where we got our cakes. I would highly recommend!
