I didn’t want to believe the reviews on their food lacking flavor because I used to come here all the time with my mom. The only thing we liked was the champurado, the queso flameado and their tortillas. That was it. Everything else was so bland. I wish I was exaggerating but I’m so upset. I sent back their menudo because it was so bland and we replaced it with sopes which tasted just as bland. My enchiladas de mole came out cold and I sent them back to be reheated and when I actually got the flavor it was not good. Only come here if you’re craving champurado. That’s it.
This used to be the SPOT! The quality of the food has definitely gone down. The fajita to the nopales tasting like they are 4 days old, the Masa texture change a lot too. Taste like if everything was fried with very old oil. Service still pretty good, and the prices are still affordable! But the drop in quality was very disappointing.
I’ve been there several times and appreciate the authentic atmosphere and food so I brought a friend last night. We both got food poisoning like never before!!! I called the next morning to alert them and was hung up on. When I called back they didn’t take me seriously. I wanted to warn so others would not have the same experience- So I’m warning you.
Beans and rice had zero flavor. The portion size of the fajitas was average. The enchiladas were dry and sides didn't taste fresh. For instance, the avocados had a nasty spoiled taste to it. The sauce that was put on top of the enchiladas was sour and overall not good.
I recommend this place food, staff and everything else was excellent I stopped to eat at midnight and the service was very good personnel attentive will definitely come back againFood: 5/5
The reviews are right. I just got served cold beans and rice on my plate. The tostada also had cold beans and fajita. I let them charge me for it and didnt complain. Last time trying this place. No mames puro robadoFood: 1/5
Good customer service. Great variety of Mexican food . Stays open late. If you see a guy selling fresh cheese from a ice cooler in the restaurant, buy it! Cheese is from Veracruz and it's great .
I have driven by this restaurant on Irvington Blvd many times. I usually eat at Taqueria Arandas. I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. This is old school authentic Mexican restaurant. The brightly painted walls in the festive dining are covered with pictures, posters signs, etc. They had live music when I was there on a Saturday evening. The food was very food and served piping hot. I ordered the Tex-Mex enchiladas with rice, refried beans and lettuce. It was reasonably priced at $9.99. My server was friendly and service was prompt even though they were very busy.
The food was horrible! The salsa for the chips didn’t have any taste. But you can feel the spicy from it. I had ordered some enchiladas and I couldn’t even eat it all. It tasted so !!! Also the horchata tasted too much like cinnamon not it was not good to drink. What we had ordered was $30 in total. Which seemed too much since we had only ordered two horchateras and torta & enchiladas. We did complain about the horchata but seemed like they didn’t care. I just warning y’all be careful and choose wisely.
Authentic! The menudo was absolutely delicious! I got a large bowl, and definitely should have gotten the small it was huge! and it came with all of the toppings! My friend got a beef fajita torta, and gave it a 10/10. The service was also so friendly! A great Mexican restaurant!
