While I’ve had better Mexican food elsewhere imho, I felt that this place was pretty charming with friendly service and a fun karaoke scene. The DJ kept the decibels to a manageable level. It probably helped that there weren’t many diners, so the overall noise level was pretty low. Careful with the chicken enchiladas because they may have crushed bones in it as stated in the menu which we did find in our food.
This is our go to for authentic Mexican food. I often order the Chili Relleno and my husband orders Chicken Enchiladas. Delicious food, gracious service. We always have the Pork Tamales to go. We will always return.Food: 5/5
REAL Mexican food. Real people. This is a yet undiscovered jewel among Austin's cuisine options. Because of that, still very affordable, Mexican families come here, and those of us that really enjoy the food from south of the border and want to keep our budget. Good portions. Live music just happens, mostly weekends and evenings, as roaming Ranchero musicians drop by.
Everything is amazing! From the Birria to the Menudo its all amazing, and to top it all, their hand-made tortillas are the best touch!Food: 5/5
Perhaps the best tacos de bistec I’ve ever had. Chorizo was also very good; barbacoa was good, but not the best! Will definitely be back. Delicious horchata as well.
Cute little place, that stands alone as the only Mexican restaurant in an otherwise all Asian retail/food plaza. I have eaten here a dozen times, usually at lunch/dinner time. It’s typically 50% filled or less. Most of the staff are bilingual and all are very kind. Karaoke is always a fun time and watching the Spanish soap operas on tv. They have the best mole I’ve ever had, and all the food I’ve tried is very filling and worth the price.
Love the food! I didn’t expect to be full when I saw my plates. The service was so-so probably because I can’t understand what they were saying they talk in Spanish and fast I don’t really mind but like I didn’t even finish looking up the whole menu and she asked me what to order in a pushy way I panicked order but the food was great so..
Went here the other day. The food was decent. However, when I tipped them cash they wrote in a $22 tip on my card. Very disappointed in what used to be a local favorite from childhood.
Good food. Good prices. Friendly waitress. The loud mexican music was really off-putting. I asked them to turn it WAY DOWN. They did. I was great full. Maybe more beans in the beans....they are crazy runny. But it was good.
This review has nothing to do with the food, but has everything to do with the character of the people who own this establishment. They are deliberately running a towing scheme and making customers who are shopping in the strip mall, pay to get their vehicles out of impound. As you can see from the red and white sign below, it says you can park if you are “shopping” or “dining”. This makes it seem that you can park in these spots if you are shopping at the stores or dining at the restaurant. However that is not the case. The tow truck driver even returned after taking our vehicle to the impound and said the owner of the restaurant has pictures of us walking to the stores. If so, why couldn’t he just ask us to move our vehicle if we were not supposed to park there? So the driver just sits there and waits for people to park and leave their vehicle, and then takes their car when they go into the stores. The tow truck driver, the towing company, and the owner of the restaurant should be ashamed of themselves for doing this. There is nothing you can do but pay the fees and take the company to civil court after you retrieve you vehicle. I can’t believe who run a business actually have the heart to do this to people intentionally. Please be aware while supporting a business who intentions are clearly scamming people! God bless
