It pains me to write this review but I feel compelled to. First of all, Dr. Brown was wonderful with my dog; I do absolutely recommend seeing her for any basic needs. However: Dr. Ashley was the worst vet visit I've ever had for my cat, and I left in tears. My cat, who I never take in since he's healthy, needed sedatives to travel because I have to relocate to care for ailing family members and am not sure how he'll do on a plane. From the moment I started explaining my cat's behavior to her, she was contradictory, didn't believe anything I said, and made it extremely clear she thought I was an uncaring and unloving pet parent. While I warned her that the cat is volatile and unpredictable so to be careful in the exam, and tried to lighten the mood by joking that he's got some kind of bipolar disorder, she came back from the exam which I think is bizarre to do in a separate room where we don't see what's happening, looked me straight in the eye and said "I don't think it's funny. He's a good boy. I'm sorry you don't like him, and I find it heartbreaking that he doesn't have something in his life to make him happy." I lost sleep and am trying to rehome my cat after this episode. I have never felt so shamed and made to feel that I've neglected and somehow emotionally abused an animal in my life. Positively DO NOT book an appointment with this vet. I'm shattered by what happened in that room.
Went to gotham because my dog had an ear infection on the 12th and Dr. Mansfield was quite nice and accommodating and did check koko very well. So I scheduled a follow up with Dr. Bryant for a recheck on the 6th of February. Unfortunately Koko got really sick after her appointment on the 12th so I took her to Bondvet and they diagnosed her with diabetes. I started the treatment process with them but Koko wasn’t eating a lot and I tried everything to get her to eat. So when the recheck came up I told Dr. Bryant about Kokos most recent history and overall medical history just to be told that I should put her down! I felt as if she was not listening to me. I tried to show her that I had a glucose meter so that I could be taught how to use it by Dr. Bryant but every time I tried to mention it I was cut off and told that if I can’t afford Kokos treatment I should put her down. I had Kokos medication for her other illness, cushings and Koko was on insulin but she was eating so little I was scared to give her full doses. I felt so hopeless and judged for doing what I can. Anyway, we are now in Florida and Koko has eaten full meals and has been getting full doses of insulin and planning to start trilostane soon.
So today I went to go to the vetenarian to get my cat her vaccines. When I walked in a heard a very strange noise, almost like a growl but it sounded different. I was a little startled but figured it was just a large dog, everything seemed normal until the veterinarian told me to follow her… what I saw next I cannot even put into words, this was single handedly the most villainous, frightful and just down right pernicious thing I have ever seen: I will attach a photo to show what I saw but I am still in shock. Fortunately, I later found out that they ended up saving the Gorilla, so I will definitely be returning. This is an experience I will never forget.
Gotham Veterinary Center is the only place I would take my dog to in Manhattan. The front desk people are pleasant and all the Vets, assistants, nurses and other workers are skilled , smart and caring about my dog every time I take her to the center. The staff has a friendly, but knowledgeable way of caring for my pet. I also notice the individual attention each animal gets when they are looked after. My dog is 12 years old now and we have been happily going to Gotham for many years , knowing that my dog will get the best care she can get at a Veterinary office.
I can't say enough about Dr. Bonnie Brown and Gothom Vet. I am convinced my senior dog is alive after a crisis because of their above and beyond care. I never had to wait long to be seen, and the staff was so helpful and communicative through out the whole ordeal. I love how they would come out and talk to you safely with masks when I was left standing out in the cold during Covid at my last vet. Dr. Brown is knowledgeable and caring, and my doggy is still here. I am eternally grateful.
Dr. Davis and the whole Gotham staff take great care of my fur babies. I've never seen dogs so happy to go to the vet. They absolutely love everyone at Gotham. Thank you for all you do for my Donkey and Fiona.
I've been bringing Pawsie here for a couple of years, and yesterday they were amazing! I needed Paws to be seen quickly and of course I was terrified about her being so sick thyroid issue. They scheduled Paws to be seen by Dr. Brown, and I have to say that she was amazing. I was really freaking out, and Dr. Brown not only helped Paws feel better, and knew what needed to be done for Paws' treatment, she was also kind, calming, and compassionate. Everyone who works there are amazing and I'm beyond grateful that they were there when Pawsie and I needed them the most!
Whether I'm dealing with an emergency a sick pup or an annual visit, I always receive prompt, professional, courteous service for my dog. Dr. Brown works to make both my dog and me feel comfortable. Her knowledge and care reassure me that my dog is in the best hands. Gotham Veterinary overall has great service with afforable prices.
The Gotham Veterinary Center is the place to receive incredible care for your cherished pet. The care and the compassion the staff have for our pets is outstanding. Dr. Bonnie Brown is professional, communicative ,and so patient.
Absolutely wonderful! As a new pet owner, I knew very little. Dr. Bryant and the other staff members have made things so easy as a new puppy owner. They take great care of my dog while we're there and other pet owners are very considerate in the waiting room as my puppy is tiny and skittish; the office staff could not be more attentive and efficient. Each visit has been great and my puppy feels fine going there. We receive wonderful advice, our puppy leaves feeling comfortable not freaked out, and the other administrative staff members are extremely efficient about scheduling and billing.
