Governors Island National Monument

Easy access to this small and less known island right in the New York harbor area . You can take the ferry from downtown Manhattan and be in the island in a few minutes , walking or riding a bike this is a peaceful and well maintained place . In a busy day make sure you plan your return to the city .

Great area for young children to enjoy and have fun. Adults can enjoy the lawn and walks or biking around the park. Make sure to bring own food and water there are fountains or you'll be spending more than you want to.

Easy and inexpensive to get to by ferry. Some easy walks/hikes. Great views. A few dining options. And the best glamping ever with Collective Retreats! Worth a visit!

Was not much to do. Says there is a slide but we could not find it. The crepe place took quite a while to prepare our food. The farm and composting area is very interesting! Great place for kids
