Always friendly and helpful staff! Wife and I got a great pair of glasses each. They took care of the insurance, asked all the right questions and took proper measurements. We had our prescriptions with us so we didn't need checkups. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a new optometrist since I switched insurance carriers and my last prescription was pre-covid. The weirdest part is I was originally looking for a place close by but given where my office was, Grand Central Optical was the fastest place for me to go from my office, even though it isn't the closest distance.. That said, I'm extremely happy that I went here. Dr. Sohn and everyone here was very friendly and helpful. I came in earlier than my appointment but they were able to fit me in right away. Maybe I got lucky with my appointment time, but usually at other optometrists I've always had a 30ish minute wait after checking in. Before anything even started, they were very clear about copays and costs on my insurance plan so I wouldn't be surprise by the bill at the end. Dr. Sohn performed a great eye exam and figured out my last prescription was overcorrected which is why I didn't have the greatest vision even with contacts in. After the exam and contact fitting, this is probably the clearest and sharpest vision I've ever had since wearing contacts and glasses. Would highly recommend going here if you need an eye doctor or you're looking to switch.

Best place to get glasses in the city, if not the country. Jordan helped me and he was attentive, knowledgeable, patient, and honest; and he helped me pick stylish and attractive frames as well as lenses that allow me to see more clearly. I purchased both prescription sunglasses and regular prescription glasses and felt the prices were reasonable and the service was exceptional. It’s a really nice store and the whole experience was wonderful. And I love my new glasses! I’ll never go anywhere else for glasses.

Absolutely the best reading glasses I've ever had, and I've been wearing glasses, due to a astigmatism, all my life. I initially thought all of the extra attention they were giving the development of the reading glasses was unwarranted... boy was I wrong. These guys really know what they're doing.

Whether you are an existing client or visiting NYC from afar, GCO is the best "go to" optical practice for you in midtown Manhattan. Convenient for visitors staying in the Times Square area as well as anyone in midtown. We had a super positive experience with the service and staff. Highly recommended.

I had a great experience when I first got a prescription. I had another great experience when my lenses were scratched and needed to be replaced they were under warranty so it was free. I have since switched to a different optometrist that is closer to my apartment, but I will always recommend this office!
