Our situation was a bit complicated as we purchased a vehicle out of state but the process w/ GSCU went relatively well. Casey was particularly helpful during the application process on two occasions. She contacted the dealership immediately and cleared up necessary documentation to keep our application moving along and we were able to close with her as well. She was very kind, knowledgeable, and thorough. She followed up after speaking with the dealership right away. We are very thankful to have gotten such a good rate, a difference of 5% from what the dealership offered!
I don’t know what happened, but they seem to be changing not for the people. I understand I misplaced my debit card. But after waiting since August 1st and still not having my card I called. I was told they could expedite a card at my expense. I’ve been with y’all for five years! I have three accounts, and still trying to be held accountable for the card that was lost in the mail. I’ll probably be switching out here soon. No respect for loyal customers. Five years never lost my card and over a month to get to me.
I recently purchased an auto and went through GSCU for my financing. The lending department was knowledgeable and got me pre-approved quickly. When i found my car I stopped by the Rochester branch they got me taken care promptly on a Saturday and I was able to get my car same day. Great experience, would use them again!
I'm not sure what other ppls problems are. GSCU has been an amazing bank for me. They helped me finance my 1st car, were there for me when the city came after me for the title for some reason, quick to help me consolidate debt while explaining everything to me; no secrets or surprises etc. We're still in a pandemic for Christ's sake, you honestly expect things to be the EXACT same as there were 4 yrs ago? What about THIER health and safety? Jesus ppl are selfish. Yes We're the customers but they're not scum or otherwise unworthy of our time & respect. They're trying to update everything not just for them to keep up with the times but to provide a better interface to us. Expect a couple speed bumps, nobody is perfect. In anycase, I'm a happy customer
They do not do what they say they will. If you're attempting to obtain a loan, you must handhold them every single step of the way, and double check they submitted what they claimed they did. While everyone's pleasant to speak with, they do not actually DO anything at all. I am doing it on my own, calling the DMV on their behalf, finding which emails were not sent that GSCU said they did, etc. I'm extremely disappointed and wish I did not begin this process with them.
Look for a better option. Definitely not the worst bank, but it doesnt matter whether you go to the location, or are just trying to find out your balance. Better set aside at least 30 minutes, no exaggeration, and thats being generous on average.
Their lending department is the worst that I have ever dealt with, I want to refinance my car and I have excellent credit, they told me everything is going to be great just send us your last two pay stubs then they told me send us your tax return from the last two years and I have done it all after that they told me we cannot take your business based on your history, I have excellent credit I have a stable job and I have equity in my car, I do not know the reason why they denied me and why they have wasted my time, I think the only reason they want me to do that they just wanted me to open account with them which is something I have done it, I think that was their main goal, I have opened a checking account and a savings account and I have a deposited and I had plans to have more deposits, I am glad they denied me because I am now motivated to pay off my car within two years, Please do more research before you do anything with this institution
Worst bank in history! Online banking- doesn't work. Customer service- doesn't know. Other customer service area still doesn't know. My money would be safer in a jar in the pantry.
banking is first about convenience. online access couldn't be much worse. online help is veryyyy inaccessible. Staff is helpful if you can actually talk with someone. it took 4 days and repeated phone calls. still not able to actually get a username and password to be successful. Do NOT use this bank if you want convenience and easy access.
Newly with GSCU after wanting to cut ties with TD bank because of monthly “maintenance”fees...everyone was very nice and helpful opening. I hope to see more newer technologies with the ATM’s though in the near future....haven’t had to do a ATM deposit with a envelope in years as most other banks offer direct cash deposits with no envelope that give you immediate access to the cash you just deposited. That was a big let down discovering this for the first time yesterday that this was the old school deposit with a envelope and wait 2+ days for it to be “cleared”. I hope to see some enhancements as banking should be easy.
