Great Smoky Mountains Peace Pagoda

Utsumi-shonin and Denise-anjusan are the fantastic hosts of this temple. They've been working on building a Buddhist Stupa here, in this case, a Japanese Peace Pagoda for nearly 8 years, with hopes to finish in the next 4 years. It's a project of some magnitude, and built exclusively by themselves and volunteers from all over the world. They host 3 week long "work parties" in the Spring and Autumn of each year. All you need to bring is a desire to work and clothing you don't mind getting dirty. You can visit for a day or all 3 weeks or even longer if you desire. The work goes on year round so you can schedule nearly any time to help. Let's all help build some peace instead of war for once.
