If you are a nature lover, I highly recommend visiting the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. There are several great walking trails to see the abundance of nature all around you. Living and working in the city, it isn't often that I get to experience walking in a forest full of life. I really enjoyed seeing all the green of the trees during Spring, even if my children did not enjoy their time here. Hopefully they will have some fond memories of this place later in life.

Great park in the middle of New Jersey. A ton a natural beauty and birds. It’s and easy walk about a mile completely wheelchair accessible. Probably will see a few mosquitos. Bathrooms available on site and more than enough parking.

It's a unique place. The board walks are great. The orange trail is still swampy but might be more dry in summer. There are also a lot of kids activities organized here.

Superb location for bird watching. There always seems to be another trail to find a new site to see. This is a very very large park in fact, tucked away between many great little towns. No matter the season there's always a certain appeal to the seasonal atmosphere here. Cycling the circumference of the park is also a blast, I highly recommend it!

Great place to OBSERVE wildlife. Owls, deer, frogs etc. There are numerous trails- long and short- as well as a nature center for taking classes and checking out current displays.
