I see a lot of bad experiences with this company. I, on the other hand, did not have a terrible experience. My brother bought meat from this company about a year ago and was amazed at the quality and price. I'll be the first to admit that I am hesitant about buying meat out of the back of a van. I can only speak on the experience that I had and it was very pleasant and much better than store prices. The "salesman" was very polite and not pushy at all. I felt that they were obviously contracted and worked on commission which allows one some bargaining power on the price. I will give a word of advice to Great Western Meats Company though... you should probably consider updating your vans and signage. Also, in this day and age most people would like to see some form of traceability for the product they are purchasing (i.e. Certificates of Authenticity, Nutritional statements, farm to vendor tracking information.) All of these things help legitimize your business.

My wife Just got ripped off out of about 150.00 from these guy in Shawnee, OK. They sale meat out of a van ..She got about 100.00 dollars Worth of meat and they charged her 250.00 ..One says his name is Leonard ..This Co. will not answer the phone and the number the van guy give is a fake...I just hope what meat we have is good to eat.. Some maybe Ok, but be careful and ...Do not buy from these guys in Shawnee ...Boxes have Midwest style Steakhouse Quality meats on them...

Worst meat I have ever eaten. Very tough and little flavor. They got me once but they won't get me twice.

-0- stars for customer service. 5 stars for the meat. If this company makes a mistake, don't expect Shane or Steve to make any resolution or to even call to apologize ! I just called Shane (for the 4th time) to tell him I didn't appreciate someone not contacting me back and to please tell Steve not to come by again and he said a simple and matter-of-fact 'ok.' I told him, 'we are customers, doesn't that matter ?' He said, 'I am just the wholesaler' I also told Shane he should check out his website online reviews. I hadn't written one yet, (at the time) but was sure thinking about it. No reply, not even a comment from him ! With that kind of attitude, no matter how good the meat, we won't be doing business with this company ever again ! We can buy good meat somewhere else ! Why support a company who doesn't even care about their customers ! It's evidentally all about the profit, which there will be less of, with their lack of customer service !

Do Not Buy from these people. There are too many things to list about the shadiness of this company. They start off by saying Omaha Steaks and then quickly you realize the word "Omaha" nor "Nebraska" do not appear on the packaging. 4 steaks we looked at were green, another package leaked blood everywhere. So much for the vaccuum packaging they bragged about. When we asked if we could return them because we are not satisfied it became obvious that was not an option. Shane the owner tried to do a salesman shpiel and tried to resell them again to us. Really?! I jacked around with this guy for a week. He dodged phone calls, became irate on the phone and called me a "dickhole". Wow! Total innapropriate and horrible customer service. This is not a warehouse this is a clubhouse for kids that didn't grow up and are now trying to get rich quick. I finally got my money back at a discounted rate for the "free" case of chicken they were going to throw in to just you know sweeten the deal. How do you pro-rate what is free? Total jerk! Not to mention there was a smell of alcohol on the salesmens breath that should have been our first clue to send this joker packing.
