I got a green chef box to try it and the food was mediocre at best. Yes it was easy to make and easy to follow the recipe but the recipes weren’t actually that good. In addition, I skipped several weeks due to us being out of town for the holidays. Green Chef still charged me for one of the deliveries and when I called customer service they said they can’t do anything about it. They can’t cancel the order or anything which is really frustrating since we’re out of town and I intentionally skipped all the weeks we’re gone.
Where to start? My wife researched out a number of places and wee decided to give this place a try based off the online reviews. Needless to say we are beyond disappointed. We placed our initial order last week expecting it to arrive today. There were no notifications of any issues till I asked her when the order was supposed to arrive. She looked at the FAQ's it mentions we would receive an email with a tracking a number. She searched her emails no email with tracking? I ended up calling their call center, met by a fairly nice lady. She looked into things further only to find out our order never shipped. She was a apologetic and said that she would provide us a credit in the amount of the initial order, however the discount would be lower because it would be our second order. I asked her if they credit the original payment method back, she answer no it would be a credit to the account. I asked what if I cancel it wasn't until then she mentioned she could credit back the original payment method and we would have the first order discount. It was like prying for information to get what is fair. Not sure if we will place another order after the customer service engagement.
I'd say about once to twice a month I receive bad food w mold on and just recently live bugs on my food! I have contacted customer service with pictures who only refunded me $12.95. Mind you I don't grocery shop as I'm using this service, so it's not just the food, but inconvenience of me now not having anything to make a meal with at dinner. I asked numerous times in email for their managers contact information and 3 different employees ignored me and closed my case. Now trying to call them because they offshored their customer service to another country, the connection to the line is horrendous. Numerous call drops, loud snapping sound in background. I got good customer care when the support was onshore, but it's horrendous now and agents don't care. I'm on the phone w one now and got an excuse why a manager isn't available to speak w me. This is deplorable customer service.
I did a contract labor job at Green chef. I found the full-time employees to be rude and very unpleasant to work with. They didn't seem to be too keyed on training somebody on a new job either.
I never received notification my payment didn't go through, if I had been I would have updated my card info before the deadline. But I wasn't notified until I reached out the day of expected delivery to learn I will have to go to the grocery store after all! Sub canceled
I have tried four other online services that deliver meals and you cook them at home and this is by far the most tastiest of all meals I have ever had! We've been on this meal service for about 2 months and we have not had one meal that was gross. Matter of fact we have not had one meal that we wouldn't eat again. And most are very tasty. The fact that they are easy to cook and keto and gluten free and organic is a no-brainer. This is the best company out there.
I love the meals, and if I was rating this on meals alone, I'd give it five stars. But after I deactivated the account and received the usual "We're sorry to see you go" message, a few weeks later I received an email indicating that my order would be delivered the next day. I knew that was a mistake, so I went into my account to find out what was going on. The information on my account indicated it was active. I called customer service, and it seemed we were talking two metaphorically different languages. It turns out that when I tried to access my account two weeks ago to make sure it was canceled, I unknowingly reactivated the account. I was floored. What company does that? I couldn't get into my account, but they reactivated it anyway? So I am reluctantly giving GreenChef one star, but that's based on their policies alone. I can't get a refund on the week of food I got but didn't order, because I didn't email, call, or text. Instead, I went to their site, hoping I could chat about getting a refund, but that's not possible. They may create their meals to satisfy their customers, but after that, they just don't care.
when everything is working its good. BUT, I paused my delivery for 1 week and when my order was to start up again I stopped receiving message updates about my delivery. I ended up not receiving my packages for 4 weeks straight, talked to two different people about it and neither could fix it. I scheduled my deliveries to be on Tuesdays when I'm home but, I live in an apartment building and the delivery window is 8am-8pm. Maybe the packages are getting stolen, with out the text updates how an I suppose to know because they never bring the packages to my door, they leave them in the mail room.
I tried several different companies before Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, but the Green Chef is the worst one. The portions are very small and the most important is the quality of the food are rely bed. I had to trough away half of the staff that they send it to me. I'm not recommend this service to any one, this is a waist of money.
When we started out with Green Chef about 4 months ago everything was fine. Recently however we are finding the portions are getting smaller. When we dined before we had enough for two people as ordered. Now the portions are maybe enough for one. I don't recommend this company.
