One of the best specialty grocery stores I’ve ever experienced. Truly feels like a neighborhood, family-run store. Everyone is friendly and the wine selection is well curated. They are very knowledgeable about olive oil and can help explain the differences in real terms. The Japanese selection is fantastic. Tons of “treats” to be discovered as well. I won’t spoil it. Just go! You can even shop their stuff online.
A small shop run with love. We are tourists from Germany and stayed at the Eastside Lounge across the street. was looking for something to eat and found this place. The owner is super nice and helpful. We enjoyed shopping here and can only recommend this little shop. He even cut the bread for us because we didn't have knives. To anyone in the world reading this, please buy something to keep the store going. Greetings from Germany to the owner.
This is a small market that has many unique items all in one spot. They also have some local items from businesses in the area. It's nice that you can come here to find the hard to find items in person.
Small, ultra curated market with local and imported fares. Lots of cutesy items that would make great last second gifts or add to your homes visual palette. We stopped in because they had some special edition natural wine and we walked out with a few extra goodies. Staff was super friendly and attentive, so we will definitely be swinging by again to support our local grocers. Would definitely recommend taking an out of town friend if they are looking to bring home some tasty local souvenirs.
Super friendly team-members, wonderful interesting selection of global goods, and DELICIOUS PIZZA-MAKING KIT. What a wonderful little place--yesterday we popped in and bought maple syrup, artisan crackers, cheese, pepperoni, and locally made pizza dough + sauce. The pizza kit made literally the best pizza I've ever eaten and everything else is of the utmost quality!!! So worth it---we'll be making our stops to Wellspent more regularly. Places like these are what make Portland the GEM that it is <3
This place is great. It features craft products from unique makers. It has a strong focus on local Portland culinary delights but mixes in national and international delights. If you love cooking and food, you’ll love Wellspent.
Well worth checking out. It reminds me of places I stopped at while in Europe. If you're into cooking this place is a must. Cooking wine, vinegars, pastas, etc. I go here regularly for the best regional ciders.
I’ve long lurked on Wellspent Market’s charming Instagram, drooling over goodies shared in stories, finding recipes to try, and putting together a list of all the things I need. Of course when I finally visited, WM exceeded my expectations. It is a charming little market with lots of pantry staples, plus fresh flowers, quite a few Asian treats and groceries, a good amount of wine, even locally made ceramics. The focus is on local and artisan/specialty items, but they’ve got the basics too - I could not believe how much they fit inside! They offer a website where you can order nonperishables, but nothing beats a visit if you can make it how else are you going to be like me and nab a pound of gorgeous, apricot orange locally foraged chanterelles?!. The employees were all crazy charming and super helpful. I felt like we were best friends. They also have a couple parking spots available behind the building, always a plus in Portland!
I found this place looking for a store in which I could fine quality food and items that a professional chef would use. I was recommended to look at this place and I was not disappointed. At Real Good Food, you find quality speciality items that help you expand your recipes and tailor the flavors. The staff is very knowledgeable and are able to help you in anything related to cooking. The major items that they stock are: wine, vinegar, olive oil, grains, specific cheese, bread, etc. I am very excite to go to their workshops and classes to learn more about the art of cooking. This is truly a hidden gem within Portland.
This place makes you a food nerd ! In the best way ! Jim taught me that I didn’t have to wait to use good olive oil, and that I didn’t have to spend a lot of money to eat well! Come in on a Friday and catch their fresh bread Friday’s AND the owner is probably cooking up a demo or 2 for his weekly newsletter. Plus, parking in the back!
