Went to try out $1000 effects pedals. Terrible display. You can't see them to try out the interfaces and they are unable to be taken off shelves to try them out properly. Also the units all had outdated versions running so you couldn't really see what they currently are capable of. The positive is you have 45 days to try out but I dont want to have to go back and forth to store buying and returning pedals to try out. Salesman didn't really seem to know anything about them. I'm pretty sure I knew more just by doing a bit of googling. Forced to buy here since the mom and pops are getting run out of town.
I usually write reviews pretty easily. But to write a review for this store, took me a whole week of going back and forth between my thoughts. I am still shocked. The story i had with this store is long enough to write a novel about it. It's full of stress, abuse, and lies. I would just come to a brief storytelling session and a conclusion. Me and my wife ordered a piano in store for our anniversary YDP 144 from Yamaha. We waited long enough for order updates. Nothing appeared. No one called. I called the store and Brandon said we cant find the order. Some days later James said we have it. Some days later manager said it was cancelled!!!! I dont know how to elaborate on my experience but all I would say is that something is really off in the whole Guitarcenter stores. I gave them a lot of chances to correct my order. Finally the guitarcenter of their call center came in the game and she said we would correct this. We ordered another piano because they said they dont have YDP 144 available no more. She submitted the order and I asked her on the phone if the piano comes with the bench and she said yes. I said if we need to pay anything for the shipping she said no. Some days later, I got suspicious enough to contact her again. she said let me check see if it comes with the bench. SHE SAID NO!!! AND SHE SAID YOU ALSO HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SHIPPING! Well I am still shocked as I mentioned i will not trust GC no more and would not recommend it to my friends or even to my enemies.
I bought this karaoke machine sounds really good for price
I hate to rate anyone this bad, but my most recent experience was that bad. Sad to say it's not the first time, but it is the last. Staff are lazy and I have seen them be rude not to me personally to others and their service is absolutely awful. People please do yourselves a favor and deal with Maxwells House of Music, Moms Music or the Music Store if you want to purchase locally, if that is of no specific concern then Sweetwater is definetly the best way to go. Guitar Center doesn't have people over a barrel anymore. Awful place to deal with about ANYTHING. I'll end this by saying that I hate to be so harsh to anybody.... but GC they deserve it.
Pleasant approachable staff. They helped me pick out my first guitar without being pushy or anything. The price was incredible for what I bought.
Great experience. It was our son's 15th birthday and we were shopping for an amp. Justin helped us out, showed us an amazing amp, gave my son some tips and tricks, and played some guitar with him. This place is huge and has an amazing selection, play before you buy options, and they even buy/sell used equipment.
I Bought my music recording studio and all of my music equipment needs here!! The Associates here are more than your ordinary store associates They are very highly skilled musicians engineers and tech savvy professionals
Friendly faces but not so friendly prices. However, being the only probably brick and mortar music store left in Louisville, the price you'll pay for convenience is a little more premium than your online alternatives. Thanks for being available when I need you most. Like, the time I ran out of microphone wires and Amazon was 5 days from handling them to me.
If I could give this store zero stars I would. I took my favorite guitar in for a warranty repair. I didn't hear anything for 4 weeks. When I called after 4 weeks they told me they had destroyed my guitar and replaced it with a new one without even telling me. They then said "that's how Fender does warranties" and "someone should have told you that was going to happen" but wouldn't take responsibility for keeping me in the dark. After 6 weeks my new guitar came in and it was clearly a second quality guitar. When I asked them to send it back for one that isn't obviously made of spare parts James at guitar center immediately got defensive and would only reply with "my technicians did what they were supposed to do" over and over instead of just sending the guitar back in exchange for one that was better quality. The immediate jump to being defensive let's me know that he knows they did something wrong and is trying to cover it up. It doesn't make sense as to why they wouldn't just send it back. It's no money out of their pocket. All they are doing is shipping a guitar for me and they refused. This is the lowest quality guitar store in the city. They have to beg people to work for them and bribe them with "an hour of free lessons" they do not care about their customers or the instruments we love. If you value the care of your instruments do not take them to this store.
Bought a cymbal online from guitarcenter.com- was showing in stock in Louisville. Received an email from this store saying someone bought it in store in the 2 days between when I ordered it and they tried to find it. Went into the store in person to sell some drum pedals and get new sticks and saw the cymbal they supposedly sold with the price marked up another 20%. Then waited in line for 30 minutes without being helped. Left and wont return.
