My name is Josh. I am 27 years old. I have played guitar since I was 12, and of all the resources, books, web forums, other musicians, etc., that I've consulted, I've never had a better resource/instructor for learning in my own, scatterbrained way. I don't think there's anything Chip doesn't know about music.
I'll also put it this way, ever since I've started lessons, the fret board never made this much sense. Completely changed the way I perceive music, both from the audience's perspective and the creator's perspective.
One last thing, very fair prices! Probably the best value you can get considering you're having a master musician give you lessons!

I had been learning guitar on my own. I read books and watched you tube videos. I could play some songs using common open chords. I even understood some music theory. After my first lesson with Chip, it was like the proverbial light bulb turned on. All of a sudden I was understanding barre chords and could figure them out. I didn't need a chart to show me! At 52 I am excited about learning how to really play the guitar.

Chip is the best guitar teacher i could have ever asked for. I have come such a long way since i first started taking lessons with him over 4 years ago. Chip taught me how to play the guitar the way i wanted to learn, and that approach to teaching allowed me ( and still does) to be much more creative while playing the guitar, as well as let me greatly enjoy playing my music in general. No matter if you are picking up the guitar for the first time, or looking to improve your playing ability, Chip will help you improve drastically and will make you love doing it. If you give him the time and the effort, he will help you achieve your dreams of becoming a quality guitarist.

So far I've only been to 3 lessons as a novice guitar player and already Chip has changed the way I even listen to music. He is very patient and very good at catering the lessons to where you are at and to a point to where you can understand what he is trying to get across instead of throwing lingo out there that you have no clue about (he is very honest and keeps you accountable as well). I wouldn't consider taking lessons from anyone else and not to mention you can't beat the price!
