After several bad haircuts at pricey salons, I took a chance at Hair Cuttery when I had a smaller budget. I’ve now been there 2x and each time had a wonderful experience and the best two cuts I’ve ever had for only $18 each. I have a large amount of extremely thick hair so I need it texturized more than most. Some stylists don’t know how to do it or are scared to do it as much as I need. Some flat out refuse. The first time I went was in July. A young stylist did a great job with the cut but admitted she didn’t know how to do the texturizing I was describing so she brought over the manager who did it and it was fantastic. I respected the younger stylist for getting extra help instead of messing it up. Then I went back in October and that manager had left so I took a chance and went to Sarah. She did a great job. Was not scared to texturize it at all. Great cut again.
this was a fun hair Cuttery experience. The girls were very charming and enjoyed their job. They were very engaging. I felt like part of the family. They also did a great job cutting my son's hair. One of his better haircuts.
Went in about a week ago. Left a little iffy about my hair, but decided to give it a few days to see if my feelings changed. Overall, not pleased. My hair looked fine when I left, but the stylist’s technique seemed odd. There was no defined sectioning and she held her scissors open as she was combing and grabbing sections for lack of a better word. Honestly felt like she was just grabbing and cutting as she pleased. Then she used thinning shears. She used them when my hair was wet and after she dried it, I had to ask her to stop using them. My hair is now incredibly thin on the bottom and will not curl on its own like it did before. If I let my hair dry naturally, it looks awful. I was able to wash and go before, now I have to straighten or curl my hair if I want it to look decent. I also have an awkward short layer on one side of my head. I’ve had other stylists do something similar saying my hair was thicker on that side and needed a bit more layering. However those never dried to look like I had half a bowl cut. I’m thankful it’s still long enough to put up, but I am very concerned of when it will grow back into its original thickness that will curl properly and look good if I let it air dry. Looks nothing like the photo I brought in, and now seeing old photos of my hair makes me regret going in at all. First and last time going to this Hair Cuttery location.
Kyle is the best!!! Finally have confidence in getting my hair done. Got my shampoo, cut, highlights, root touch up, and blow dry with Kyle and he does a wonderful job!!! Enjoyed his singing while he worked too.
I have to start by saying, it's difficult to rate one's experience at a salon, when experienced, talented, and personable stylists keep leaving the location due to difficult, catty and rude coworkers. When my roommate and I saw that a Hair Cuttery had opened up just 3 minutes from our house, we were elated. First we found Erma, who was incredibly sweet, and hooked us both up with amazing hair cuts. Then, my roommate found Tina, who was gifted with color and listening to her clients' needs. Today, I went and had a cut by Gabrielle, who was pretty perfect, in her technique, explanation of products and what they do, and she had a personable, affable attitude. I'm scared that she too, will soon be leaving much like Erma and Tina have. My roommate is going overseas for work, and called ahead for touch up color tonight, and she was told that yes, she would be seen for that service. Upon arriving, there was another woman who was waiting for highlights. My roommate was then told that she could not be seen, due to the other woman being there. The stylists' lack of time management and client relation skills should not impact the needs of the clients, EVER. Needless to say, my roommate has found Tina's new place of work, and if Gabrielle leaves, I have every intention of not ever going to back to Canton Crossing Hair Cuttery either. Bottom line is, the manager needs to conduct a thorough investigation of the interpersonal issues plaguing the stylists at this location, or they will continue to lose regular clients. All of this being said, I now know that I'll be giving this review 2 stars.
I had gotten a not great haircut at a pricier spa. A week later I just couldn't stand it and decided to stop in. Samantha evened it out, took time to fix it, and I love it. There is a bright and helpful atmosphere and the shop is also in a great location.
I must have come in after new ownership and new stylists joined. I couldn't be happier with the color. Everyone was a delight to deal with. I had come in prior and felt pressured the entire time to buy their products. This time it was completely different. They have won me over with their new staff. If you haven't been in awhile or not at all please give them a shot. I am not affiliated with anyone out of this business, I just remember the before and now I have witnessed the after. For a matter of fact bringing my daughter in tonight for her haircut!!
It was a terrible experience. The hair stylist was inexperienced and cut my hair in an asymmetrical cut not intended with orange brassy and messy highlights. She repeatedly pulled my hair while washing it. It was an unprofessional and unpleasant experience. I had to have my hair saved by another salon and spent more money.
I have been here twice and after the second time I will not be back. One staff had there kid running around the place. Wound up playing with the hose for the shampoo sink and squirted water everywhere. The other had her boyfriend just hanging around in the chairs while talking to the stylist. I know it’s hair cuttery so you don’t expect a lot. But this was bad. Unprofessional.
Kyle cut my hair and he did a great job! And that's saying a lot because I haven't been able to say that about any hairdresser in my 9 years in Baltimore! I'm definitely going back.
