Pros: * Very consistent food * Chicken soup has shredded chicken and many flavorful vegetables beats flavors chicken soup by a mile * Lot of variety Cons: * Lot of the soups just aren't great quality but once you find what you like you're set I think the chicken noodle is the best. I tried the ground beef chili and it's just too bland.
The food here is very good. The salads are made fresh in front of you. Everything is very light but very filling. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff here is very very nice. It is definitely one of the best salads I have honestly ever eaten in my life. I would definitely suggest that you look up the menu before you go in. The line moves fast and if you are not sure what you want by the time you get up to the counter then you are going to be having issues.. Wish they had a location up by me.
I like the soups from here and haven't really had a bad experience the ladies taking and preparing the orders today were rude and had a nasty attitude. I know service/fast food jobs can be tough and they're way underpaid but these ladies was rude from the jump. Being vague with answers and seemingly annoyed when asked questions. The cashier was nice though which is a complete opposite of the other two people. It's a shame because it's one of the few place in the financial district that is somewhat affordable if you know what to order and how to order it.
9/2022: Seems that the pandemic has forced this place to shut down. Maybe temporarily? Who knows....
I ordered the vegan chili and it is way too hot! I asked the young lady at the counter how is it she said a little spicy. But it wasn't a little spicy it was very very spicy. Why is vegan chili so hot. If that wasn't enough they are giving out sliced bread like the one you get from the supermarket like wonder bread but not fresh. Really. I'm extremely disappointed. I should have walked the extra block or 2 and gone to Pret mgr. At least I would have enjoyed my lunch. I'm sorry to say I will never go there again or recommend there.
Pros: You won't get assulted by a elf if you try to go here Cons: it's permenently closed, so you can't go inside or buy anything
Pretty lame location. The food was par for the chain, but the staff was rude and unhelpful. I politely waited my turn to order soup and half a sandwich but was skipped because sandwiches "are over there" with a vague gesture. I went to the other line in that direction, waited my turn again, but the attendent went over to help with the soup line. When that line was gone they finally addressed me again and gestured again that I was in the wrong place for sandwiches. I asked for clarification and was ignored. Finally someone on their break directed me to the unlabeled! sandwiches and yelled for the other attendents to help me with my soup, which they'd just run out of when they were serving other customers ahead of me, so I had to choose something else. I also had to ask three times for a receipt. Ridiculous and time consuming experience!! There are plenty of other places in the area to get soup and sandwicees and I recommend those.
So stinkin good! Stay and eat or grab and go. They probably have what you you're hankering for.
I like to come after the lunch time rush. Although it can get a bit crowded the lines move fast and the people that work there are always so nice and professional. Almost every Hale and Hearty I've been to the people know what they're doing. I think they have one of the best customer service here. Also the soups are always good and you really can't go wrong especially on a cold winter day.
Great homemade soups. Large selection every day. I believe they still have the lunch special: bowl of soup, pretzel roll, and a beverage. The pretzel roll is interesting. Hot, crunchy on the outside and chewy and warm on the inside. Great combo. The soups are delicious. Self service. Service is good. Prices are cheap.
