Half Price Books

I really love book stores - nothing else like them! The prices here are reasonable for what you are getting - although I would avoid the buy back counter because they don't offer much in the way of a return. Sad to see them offer 25¢ for a buy back to find the book on their shelves for sale at $5+. Never quite understood that level of miserliness. I do get the concept of brick and mortar expenses but WOW. Unfortunately, options in used book stores are extremely limited in most parts of the country - which is sad. The staff here are usually helpful and pleasant. Very happy that I NEVER get hassled while browsing - which, for me, could be half the day! The bathrooms are clean and the store is well kept. Movie and music options are pretty good - but it would be nice to see more classic options though. I don't particularly care for having to sit on the floor to browse the available music but I understand it maximizes selling space and there is usually a chair close by for those of us with bad knees. The aisles are nice and wide so I don't have to worry about bumping into other shoppers. Overall this is a nice place for an afternoon excursion.

I really like this book store. the prices and selection are great. I always spent way too much time browsing the shelves. The biggest downside is they pay next to nothing for trade in, do don't get your hopes up for a good offer.

Excellent prices. Selection can be hit and miss. If you're coming to browse, usually something will stick out to you. If you're coming here looking for something specific, it might be better to go on Amazon. Staff is helpful, eccentric, and talkative. Great environment for my kids in the kids section. Also can be good for a date night for book lovers who like to browse.

I love Half-Price Books! They give you money for books you return and you can use that money towards new books and they always have interesting reads. I would 10/10 recommend.

Highway robbery! Husband took in male books by Patterson, Flynn,Griffin, said they pay about 1/4 the cost of book but for 27 hardback just like New they offered husband just $7.00 for all. Looked and there weren't 10 of those books not even on their shelves! Husband took them back and donated to goodwill. Will not go back...
