Harmony Karate is a safe place for young children, teenagers to learn and master the skills. They really take care of their students and treat them as an individual. Sensei John is so dedicated and passionate about Karate that is a role model and inspirational coach for the kids.

They say, “it takes a village to raise a child”... Well, it’s truly a gift if your village happens to include Sensei John and Harmony by Karate. Our children are who they are today, in part because of the values and life lessons they have learned through Sensei John, Sensei Jordan, and the Harmony by Karate way. Sensei John leads by example and shows kids the importance of loving themselves, being true to themselves, and standing up for their beliefs. He teaches children to treat people with respect regardless of differences, which is often a life skill that many educational organizations, secular, nonsecular, athletic, artistic, etc. try to achieve, but fail to accomplish. Harmony by Karate is a stand-out in this regard. After six years with two kids growing up to be the people they have become, we have the utmost respect for Sensei John and Harmony by Karate.

Both of my sons attend Harmony weekly — I can’t stress enough how transformative the instruction by Sensei John, Sensei Sage, and the other teachers have been for them. We have seen tremendous improvement in their focus, athletic abilities, respect for others, and overall self-confidence, not just in the dojo, but at school and at home. They eagerly jump into their classes and give it their all — it’s extraordinary to see that at such a young age. Harmony by Karate is the best investment you will make in your children — and you will see the return on it very quickly.

This is a one-of-a-kind program lead by Sensei John. It is a heart-based Karate program that focuses on building great human beings. My nephew Sam had taken Harmony By Karate classes and he is disciplined and skilled because of this program. I highly recommend HBK!

Harmony by Karate Dojo is an extremely special place. It is not just a place to learn the skill of karate , though that is taught in a beautifully comprehensive way. But by combining that with elements of yoga, general body conditioning & strength training, and meditation, there is a deeper kind of teaching going on here. Founder and teacher Sensei John Mirrione is a leader, teacher and philosopher of intense commitment, dedication & integrity, who cares about the growth of his students inside and out. A nationally recognized advocate of anti-bullying , he brings his own journey to the compassionate, yet disciplined work he does with his students. And the other remarkable teachers there bring their own personal journeys to their teaching. Shout out to Sensei Sage and Sensei Barry! The dojo is a space of inclusion & a garden for growth. After our family went through a huge loss, Harmony by Karate gave my daughter a new chapter in her life, a new community to be a part of & a path to strengthening her body & spirit. HBK teaches self respect & respect for others , & offers a place to work on those things. Sensei John also brings in wonderful guest speakers & teachers from all around the world, and honors traditions, like tea ceremonies. This is a place for both children and adults to study & feed their potential. We are forever grateful to Harmony By Karate for becoming family to us, and for the privilege of witnessing what it did for so many other fellow members of it’s community .

Harmony By Karate is a martial arts studio and practice that I and many others call home. This martial arts practice for grown ups and adults is not about fear, domination, or personal ego... it is a place for those who are looking to discover the strength of their spirit and harness their own power and ability to implement change and peace around them. This school is a place where children and adults don’t just grow in their martial arts skills. Harmony By Karate is a perfect example of what a community aimed for unity, inclusion and peace making looks like. The teachers and children have a symbiotic relationship in class based on honor and respect where both seek to learn and grow from each other. I am a profesional dancer/Choreographer. Through Harmony By Karate, I have sharpened my artistic voice and prepared my body and spirit to unabashedly create dances and grow in strength from the inside, out!

Being part of the wonderful community of Harmony by Karate has been a blessing for us. Here, our kids have learned and grown in a fun and challenging manner, surrounded by love and in a safe environment. Sensei John and his teachers are amazing.
