A great place for you or your organization to volunteer! Very friendly and organized staff. They take a situation that can sometimes be awkward, and make it an easy and enjoyable experience. They have volunteer opportunities for all ages and abilities!
Great place doing great things for our community. Our division at BCBS of Kansas City went there together to assist in their mission. Together we packaged "back-pack-buddy" bags, 4,395 of them in 2-hours!! Challenge to any other group - even if you don't exceed what our team did, it is a great experience and you are giving back to others. Harvesters would gladly accept your assistance!!
Great people, very kind and friendly. They just need it better marked/highlighted for drivers to wait off property before entering. I never even saw it before one of your drivers chewed me out for not waiting off property before being very dismissive. I didn't know the recieving did was supposed to be locked and not allow me in there.
Not knowing we went to harvesters with the understanding they donated food to the poor. After finding a person to explain the working, they told us harvesters does not give out donations to individuals. Instead harvesters receives donations from local businesses then harvesters donations go to area food banks helping as many people as they can. By what I understand of harvesters they are upstanding in their giving.
Great place to volunteer. The staff is organized, helpful, will get you setup quickly AND you get to layout your own schedule. There are a number of different jobs to choose from all in one location. Volunteer to help your community at your liesure, it's a fun time.
I volunteer at harvesters ,if you want to help out ,harvesters offers 2 hr shifts to volunteer .
Hard working volunteers, they are dedicated people. It runs kike clock work.
We pick up food for people who are unable to. Such a wonderful program!
Worked here briefly. My experience is one of disrespect. Got hired for double reach forklift. When i got there the truck i was supposed to use had a pretty steady oil leak. The supervisor signed it off on the inspection sheet and told me they know it leaks its a food distribution warehouse and to drive it untill later they been using it like that for over a week as they waited on the guy to fix it. Halfway through 4hours into shift the maintenance man for it took it and started working on it.. so for 4 hours they told me just hang out.. The next day an incident happened where i needed to speak to the boss. And the supervisor told me no im not calling him, then proceeded to "stare" at me as if he had a problem with me.. neddless to say the job assignment was not long lasting... Overall this place has a clean breakroom and office.. other than that it is very messy for food distribution, and i will no longer recommend anywhere that provides good from harvester even if they are desperate. 1/10
Great place to give back through volunteering!
