My husband and I have been very impressed with the staff and curriculum at Heartland Hall. The pre-k program is excellent! The structure and curriculum have definitely prepared our child to attend kindergarten in the fall. The teachers genuinely care about our children and they take the time to get to know the kids. We’ll walk through the halls and everyone greets you with a smile and says hi to our children, by name. We were referred to Heartland Hall by friends and we have since referred Heartland Hall to several of our friends. Awesome all around!

My son went to HH from infants through kindergarten. When he went to elementary school in first grade, he was way more advanced than the other children in his class and he was way more prepared than those that had attended kindergarten at the elementary. Heartland Hall prepared him more than adequately because their phonics and math programs are amazing. My son is now in the advanced classes and scores off the charts in NWEA for all areas, but especially for reading. I cannot say enough good things about this school and its programs!
In addition, they offer a variety of extra-curricular classes that my son really loved! I believe that they currently offer a painting class, karate, tennis, and STEM coding! No other daycare offers as much to the children as Heartland Hall.

I accepted a teaching position there summer of 2017. I have several years experience managing child care centers in Indiana but was wanting to get back into teaching. I worked one day and saw: 1. The assistant director texting staff in classrooms 2. Staff leaving classrooms out of ratio all day long 3. Blankets, sound machines, and toys in infant cribs...one infant woke up with a blanket around their neck 4. They left me alone with 12 one year olds on my first day (state licensing ratios are 5:1) 5. Improper training of staff and allowing staff in ratio without TB test results, first aid and cpr, and without drug screening 6. Microwaves in all classrooms (against licensing to microwave food) 7. Microwave and radio cords hanging low within reach of children 8. No gloves used or sanitation of diaper changing table 9. General dirt and grim through out every classroom 10. Inadequate toys and centers for classrooms..like I said over 2 pages back and front of violations. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!!

Heartland hall seems below average to me. Management switched a few years ago, and there is much less oversight or follow through. We routinely hundred rooms and found double the number of children per daycare worker as the state required, and heartland hall even got citations for this. We have since taken our kids out. The big benefit is their large indoor gym which allows the kids to stay active in the winter months. The only daycare in Carmel I know that has that ... update The new one just east of Heartland Hall has it too now I believe. The quality varies in each room dependent on the daycare worker, which is how I think it is anywhere. Downsides: new management does not invoke excellence or cleanliness in their staff.

We have been with Heartland Hall for about 4 years now, we have been seen our son transition and grow from infant on up through toddlers etc. A few times a year the staff puts on a variety of fun activities for the kids to participate in and they are always working on interesting projects to bring home. The quality of learning programs is very good. As they get older they take the kids on field trips, which is pretty neat, the kids get really fired up about the fun days.
