Karafina gave me one of the best cuts of my life! I’m almost a week out from the cut which means I’ve had to wash and style on my own and I still think it looks great. Would recommend 100%

Got a full head of highlights from Alex last Saturday and I have to say this is in my top 3 hair salon experiences ever. She was so amazing, incredibly knowledgeable about the process, very skilled, and told me everything that was going to happen before it happened. I'm coming off of a couple bad experiences and was so down and exasperated, thinking maybe the look I wanted just wasn't possible and she delivered EXACTLY what I wanted. I feel like myself again. After a scheduling snafu with my stylist, the manager Lily at High Horse made sure to take extra special attention to get me in for a cut and ensure I had a great experience. I’ve tried multiple salons around NYC and Brooklyn over the past years that didn’t really do what I wanted but High Horse did it! Im so happy I found it. I absolutely love my cut and going for trims. They listen and make sure you leave happy. Now my boyfriend goes too and got a cut he loves! I definitely recommend High Horse Salon.

I was a client at Havemeyer and while there I had to cases change stylist with turnover I feel I was always satisfied w the options and the vibe of the salon. I can’t say exact the same w the new location and the sort of merger w the barber shop - now they split prices btw Jr and Sr stylist which wasn’t the case, and they advertised on that and my stylist also left and it’s been insanely hard to find appointments that work for corporate working hours. I feel time to move on maybe.

Kitty is not only the sweetest human but gives the greatest haircuts. I get nonstop compliments. Worth every penny, highly recommend

I absolutely love High Horse and have been getting my haircuts here exclusively for years. Karafina is AMAZING! I trust her implicitly. She listens, knows my hair, and creates beautiful cuts that I absolutely love.

Mars is simply the most talented hair stylist I’ve ever encountered and so fun to talk to. She corrected a really bad bleach job and my hair has never looked better. Also, please don’t be alarmed, she looks exactly like Brittany Murphy reincarnate lol. Great experience and relatively reasonable price for how long of a process it was. I’ve certainly paid a lot more for bleach/toning. Wished I still lived in New York, she would be my forever go-to. Considering saving my dye jobs for when I come back to visit just so I can see her!

While I’m writing this at high horse, the stylist I am reviewing, Katie, recently left to go to wavelength salon. You can contact her @fembothair_nyc ! I met Katie because I was randomly assigned to her in 2019. I had gotten a series of really boring haircuts that made me feel like an old lady and I was trying to find someone to give me a little edge without having to give me, like, a Mohawk. Katie understood the assignment! And I immediately became a devoted fan. I have been going to her ever since and I look forward not only to always getting a North Brooklyn worthy haircut but also to seeing her. Katie is funny, extremely smart and passionate about a variety of interests. I am a politician and she not only asked me lots of good questions about government, she cared enough to register to vote and get involved! Additionally she achieved the perfect blend of making my hair feel cool while understanding the professional environment I have to work in. It’s hard to do that, it requires nuance and subtle artistry. In her free time she finds super amazing antiques and is even rehabbing an abandoned mansion upstate. She is truly a talented and brilliant person and a pleasure to spend time with. One of these days I’m going to dye my hair just so I can spend longer at the salon. oh and btw she’s actually an expert colourist too. HIRE KATIE! @fembothair_nyc on insta!

Kitty continues to give me the best haircut of my life every time I come in! She gives me a razor cut and 70s shaggy waves. I didn’t even know I had curly/wavy hair and she recommended a great and low maintenance routine for me and my hair continues to look great even after my cut. I hate styling my hair so I can truly say “I woke up like this” with her cut and her advice.
