Update: Went back for dinner and everything was amazing from the drinks to the catfish to the all day menu. Loved it. Great spot with reasonably priced food. Went for brunch and everyone enjoyed their food. Brioche French toast is heavenly and the waffles are crispy and fresh. Eggs and side meats are great as well. Location was clean and staff was great. Bravo!
Nice diner/restaurant. Breakfast served all day but I got the fried catfish, which was crispy and tasty. The fries were underneath and while not very crispy or hot were still good. There was as much cole slaw as tartar sauce, which is to say, not much. I'd go back.Food: 4/5
We went here and it was a cool place to have breakfast. My family had the French toast and two omelette meals. Everything was fresh and seasoned well. Coffee was on point. The place was packed so thankful for seating outside. Overall place was nice service was good.Food: 4/5
The food is delicious, especially the fried shrimp. I will not be coming back though after the waitress told me she didn’t think she could serve alcohol to someone who is expecting. I’m not pregnant, though it would not have been her business either way. I was kind of hoping that part of my meal would be comped after the insult, but instead I was just treated to the 20% auto gratuity.
after a short stay in DC we decided to go for breakfast at first we stopped in a local IHOP but it was super packed. I came across this hidden gem after a Google search. I so glad we stopped by. The atmosphere was amazing! We found a quiet table in the back. I had Chicken and Waffles and it was good!!! The best breakfast I ever had !!! Chicken seasoned to perfection and waffles crispy and golden. My husband had "The Big Breakfast" with a cappuccino which was delicious! I can't find nothing like it where I live I would definitely visit again.
Highlands is my go to breakfast spot. The Belgian waffles are so GOOD, the adult beverages are always, and they serve the best fried green tomatoes. Oh, how could I forget the shrimp and grits and shrimp linguine! You have got to try all the dishes mentioned above and more! The only negative thing is that seating can be hard to come by depending on the day and time.
First time going there for my wife and I. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. The service was slow, especially given the fact that it was not busy when we arrived at all. We don’t get our drinks until the food came out. Would have preferred them earlier. The 20 percent gratuity that was automatically added to the check was definitely overboard. Despite this…we would go back.
The fried chicken here is actually the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life. Get the chicken and waffles or the chicken breast Diane . Ginger noodles are also fire and has a lot of veggies and mushrooms.Food: 5/5
This place is always amazing. So delicious and feels like a 'mom and pop' restaurant. Diverse menu and specialty cocktails on their chalkboard. Highly suggest the chicken and waffles or the branzino.Food: 5/5
We live in the area and so grateful for this spot!!! We came at 11am.. and it was packed with dine in and take out. We got two lattes, shrimp and grits and cubano. Everything was delicious. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Cubano pork was full of flavor.. Can't wait to go back and try the curry and oxtail. The service was also attentive and quick.
