Val in the breakfast dining area was wonderful. She continually kept all of the tables, chairs and counters wiped down whenever a customer was finished eating or preparing their food. Val would walk around periodically asking if the customers needed anything, making sure all was well and engage in friendly conversation. She would also assure food was hot, fresh and replaced food whenever it got low. Val was very pleasant and made my stay here quite enjoyable. Jane at the check-in desk was very friendly and attentive, further adding to a pleasurable say here. Both Val & Jane are an asset to the company and should be acknowledged as valued employees. The only drawback were the elevators. One of the two were out of order the other did not fully operate 100%
Our stay was just a weekend. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The first thing noticed was that one of the elevators was out of service. Secondly, the ice machines were out of service on our floor and another floor. There were no wash clothes in one of our rooms, so I had to go down to the front desk. They gave us 4, put one of them was dingy, so we used it to start our pile our dirty towels. The breakfast was the best part of the stay. The breakfast staff was very nice and kept the area clean, and food stocked. I have stayed at nicer locations from the chain.
Enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was hot and always good! Eggs, bacon, French toast, pancakes, and more! Everyone was kind and always helpful. You do need to ask for your room to be cleaned everyday if you would like it cleaned. Downside: Room keys didn’t work often, and elevator needs to be serviced.
First of all, the elevators are not working. They don't tell you until you are there to check in. The receptionist said it has been out for two weeks. So my question is why they haven't been repaired? The hotel is very dated and in need of an upgrade. It did not smell good. If you stay more than one night, you have to request cleaning/towel service which we were also not told upon check in. The only reason they get one star is because of the kitchen/breakfast attendant. She was super nice and made sure you had what you wanted during breakfast. Other than that, the hotel is horrible. Stay somewhere else.
**CAUTION!!!** Room keys work on multiple doors. You and your belongings are not safe if the door is not bolted/if you are gone. Multiple people tried their room keys on multiple doors, and all the keys worked on all the doors. We had a ball team staying here, along with several other ball teams that all had the same experience. The guy at the desk wasn't concerned at all, just offered us new room keys. Keys also were hit or miss if they worked on your own door. We would have to try them three or four times sometimes to get our door unlocked. There was only one working elevator for six floors, and it was not even completely functional. It would miss floors, go where it wanted, and sounded very old and sketchy. The common areas were all very dirty and run down, although the room was very clean. Common area was also VERY small The laundry area is a joke. Two gross washers and two gross dryers for six floors of rooms. The sixth floor hallway was extremely hot, the thermostat said it was 84 degrees. The air in the room worked, although it seemed to be controlled by the unit, even though there was a sign on the unit saying it was controlled by the thermostat on the wall. Neither seemed to adjust the air any in the room. The housekeeping people were very kind and friendly. No one we encountered at the desk was kind or friendly. Every encounter seemed like an inconvenience to them. I would absolutely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you are looking at booking for a ball team.
I really enjoyed my stay. The room was clean but I had to clean the bath tub before taking a bath because the maid neglected to clean the inside walls of the tub. To their defense, I'm very picky when it comes to cleanliness in the kitchen and bathrooms. Hot breakfast was eggs and bacon. Overall they deserve a 5 star ratings.
I'm giving it a 3 out of 5, though it's probably closer to a 2 of 5. Our room had a bad smell, possibly mold. There was some work done recently and not finished. Bathroom wasn't very clean, and the TP holder was broken. TV didn't work, well it worked for about 10 minutes then stopped. "No signal." We had family in another room, their TV didn't work at all. Elevator - one didn't work at all and the other took you to some random floor, like a guessing game. Location was good and lots of restaurants in walking distance.
This was the worst holiday inn my family has ever stayed in. The lobby smells like garbage/ Sewage and the elevator certification expired in February. My mother who has a bad ankle and not to long ago had a heart procedure had to walk up and down 5 flights of stairs. Mind you we asked and even put in the the request for lower level room because I have a toddler. They wouldn’t honor the late check out even though it was on the website they do for reward members. They charged us a deposit because we used reward points. The ceiling in the bathroom looked like it had mold on from a leak. The bathroom is very tiny almost makes you feel claustrophobic. The tv didn’t stay on kept saying no signal. If you don’t want a bad experience do not stay at this holiday inn they only care about money and not their guest.
I’m giving 2 stars because when I booked the room online it said $175 for one night plus taxes and some kind of fee that was $5. It came out to be $204 when I checked in. I have this price on two different emails also. The front desk associate did not say anything about any other fees. When I looked at my bank account they charged an extra $100 $304 total I asked Why and they said it was some kind of holding fee and that it would be refunded when I check out but it takes several business days. This might not be an inconvenience to some, but for my husband and I who live pay check to pay check and barely scraped by to have this over night anniversary trip 3 hours away from home, it’s a huge inconvenience and damper on our trip. We couldn’t do any activities planned for our 2nd day due to not having that extra $100. We just got gas and went back home… The room was very nice, staff were nice but not helpful at all about the extra $100 taken out probably can’t help it because it was already processed, and breakfast was really good. The elevator was kind of rough and jerky but apparently had some recent work done according to a sign. That’s all.
