Holy Cross Orthodox Church

I've been a member of Holy Cross Orthodox Church for about a year and a half. My first time there I wept because I missed my old church in Georgia and thought there was no way I could find another parish where I felt so at home. Happily, I was wrong. The community at Holy Cross was very welcoming, and I made friends quickly. My children and husband also felt at home, although they were not Orthodox at the time we began attending. My kids like Sunday school, and my husband enjoys participating in the men's group. The church is a good mix of Orthodox Christians from many traditions, including many who have converted to Orthodoxy. The services are all in English, and the choir is beautiful. Visitors will not feel "lost." The church is also a good size: small enough to get to know just about everyone if you want to, but growing (we just welcomed a class of ten converts, including my husband and kids). We recently purchased some land in Kernersville and are planning to build a new church there (we are renting our existing facility). I also can't say enough good things about Fr. Christopher and Deacon George. Suffice it to say that if all Christians were as joyful, kind, and humble as they, a lot more people would probably want to be Christians. I highly recommend Holy Cross for Orthodox Christians new to the Triad area and looking for a church home, or for anyone who would like to learn more about Orthodoxy in a welcoming environment.
