Holy Trinity Church

Father Nick gave a friendly, enthusiastic, and richly informative historic tour of the church at the annual Greek Festival. The inside is filled with beautiful Byzantine and Renaissance style paintings and murals. Father Nick said that Holy Trinity Church is the first structure in the Western hemisphere that was designed and built from ground up in the Byzantine style.

Beautiful Orthodox Greek Church with amazing paintings and a welcoming group running it. My sons christening was beautiful and expertly pulled off.

A Igreja Ortodoxa Grega da Santíssima Trindade é um edifício histórico da Igreja Ortodoxa Grega situada 62 Lewis Street, em Lowell, Massachusetts. A Santíssima Trindade é apenas uma das muitas igrejas ortodoxas orientais em Lowell, juntamente com a Igreja Ortodoxa Antioquiana de São Jorge, a Igreja Ortodoxa Grega da Transfiguração e a Igreja Ortodoxa Grega de São Jorge. A igreja está sob a jurisdição da Arquidiocese Ortodoxa Grega de América. A igreja está localizada no centro de Lowell, em um bairro conhecido como The Acre. Foi construída em 1906 e adicionado ao Registro Nacional de Lugares Históricos em 1977. A Santíssima Trindade foi a primeira igreja construída para uma congregação ortodoxa grega nos Estados Unidos. É conhecida por sua cúpula dourada, mosaicos, iconografia e rica história. A igreja mostra o papel significativo que a comunidade grego-americana desempenhou no desenvolvimento de Lowell, Massachusetts. A igreja foi construída por causa da crescente população de imigrantes gregos em Lowell na época. A construção começou em 1906 e a igreja abriu em 1908. É a primeira igreja na América que foi construída especificamente para uma congregação grega.
