Great coffee. Delicious brunch food. Get here early to avoid the crowds and lines. Cozy neighborhood hole in the wall. With the weather getting nicer the outdoor sidewalk seating is available. Hostess was nice to let us wait for the window seat. Make sure you know what you wanna order because if you tell the waiter you are still looking at the menu he’s off to the next few tables. No fault to him - place is that rocking - so took some time to cycle back to us.
Easy and delicious. I remember when it was impossible to get in . And it’s still great! With large portions. 4 stars because everything is delicious until you get served fake maple syrup in a throw away cup. Upgrade to real syrup! But the latte was good too… Edit went back for more and was very VERY satisfied with the toad in a hole. It was perfection. And I’m craving it!
Lovely ambience as other reviewers have pointed out. A little ironic, but the "healthier" options come in small sized portions, and the run of the mill-cholesterol enriching options come in large sizes. Good to see the place survive the pandemic wave.
Honey’s has good food. However, the food is overpriced and the portions are small. The service was slow and not the best. I had to ask for several things multiple times. I never got a coffee refill despite asking. Get a straw, the cups are dirty. The bathroom needs cleaning. The outside needs cleaning. Parking is limited.
Came in for brunch on Wednesday and was pretty much seated right away. We got water which the cups were pretty dirty and utensils as well. I would say this place gives a rustic feel but you can have that without compromising cleanliness I feel like. Had the pancake platter, the eggs over hard with chorizo. Pancakes were some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had in my life. Buttermilk and perfectly cooked throughout. This is also the second time i had the latke and I probably won’t get it again. To sum it up, it’s a fried mashed potato in a crusty triangle shape. Chorizo was good nice kick with cumin in it. I do have to say their menu reflects how messy things are in the restaurant. The menu is disorganized and you can’t read the full detail of the options, some pictures some no pictures. Let’s just say a straw in your cup is necessary at this place. And the prices were very very expensive. 3/5 stars leaning towards 4 just because the pancakes. Even after eating the meal I don’t think the prices justify the overall meal. Food and drinks and service.
Quintessential Philly brunch! They used to be cash only but they now accept credit cards as well. The latka is a must try, the eggs are always gorgeous. Good coffee, some great specials among the drinks. Can get crowded but I feel like that adds to the charm of this place. Service is great even at the bar.Food: 5/5
I'm probably a little critical on most restaurants, but I was expecting more from this place. The food was okay, it was good variety, some classic and new creations, but it all felt like it was missing a pop or something to set it over the edge. The value of the food is hit and miss, the side of sausage was $5 for 2 links, not great value. The biscuits and gravy was reasonable as as were sides like potatoes $4, grits at $5. The service was fantastic, the folks here are attentive, the environment is a warm and cozy vibe and I would say if you're a local, this is probably a solid breakfast option.
I have read about this place a lot on the internet. I was expecting much better but I will go back and give it another try. It just wasn’t that good, it was like the food wasn’t seasoned. I love big portions and the food definitely filled me up. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. I got country fried steak and the best part of the meal was the biscuit.
Honey’s is a great option for brunch in NoLib. A smallish interior is home to very friendly staff and quick service providing a diner-esque experience. Most notable about the meal was the serving size. Driving back from an NYC visit my gf and I arrived hungry. Neither of us was able to finish our meals and we still left painfully stuffed for trying. The pancakes were delicious, the bacon was some of the best I’ve had in a while, and the breakfast potatoes were seasoned well. I got Honey’s Platter while my gf got the Breakfast Bomb eggs and sausage wrapped in a giant pancake.
A friend recommended this place and boy did they exceed my expectations. I had their breakfast bomb and the pancake were honestly one of the best I've ever had. The potatoes had great flavor the eggs tasted good. All around spectacular breakfast. I will return for more. One thing that let me down was their juice selection If they had natural fresh squeezed juices on their menu would make them even better.
