I spent a few days here in February 2018 riding snowbikes and had a great time. The owner Mike and his wife are very nice and accommodating. The cabins are clean and comfortable. The area is perfect for snowbiking, tons of untouched logging roads and gravel pits to play in. There are no OFSC trails in the area so you can go anywhere you like on a snowbike. I will definitely return in the future.

9 of us spent a week at the Lodge and really enjoyed the Lake, the Lodge and the people were awesome !
Mike just can't do enough to get you on the fish. We caught hundreds of Walleye though the week and one guest hauled in a 29"er, what a monster. Most of fish were caught within sight of the Lodge, but there is so much lake to discover it's a huge adventure. Make a point of heading the hour long boat ride to the south end where the waterfalls is, just spectacular, and there are fish in those turbulent waters so bring you rods !! Have to mention what a great job the kitchen did on the meals, great hearty "lunches to go" for on the boat, and dinners were just huge portions... a great experience !
Having said all this, this is the North so don't expect luxury, cabins were spotless and up to date, but winters are hard on things so take it all patiently and just enjoy where you are.

To Mike/Family/Staff & those considering visiting this amazing lodge,
Having been invited to Horwood Lake Lodge to experience what the good life has to offer, I must say that Mike and family/staff are amazing, down to earth people, that really want to share "The Good Life". Our visit was life lifting, eye opening, and most importantly heart whelming.
Visiting his new website today and then reading his Google Reviews I was disturbed to see the negative reviews, specifically "attacking" his beautiful Malamutes. Really, that's the dream Northern Ontario lifestyle of being able to have dogs that live a blessed life without leashes (they do have an electric fence peremiter). When we arrived by truck I IMMEDIATELY noticed and commented on the NO PETS signs, they were really obvious. Regardless of breed, dogs in "packs" are territorial. Please abide by their wishes, it's not a suggestion.
These 4 beautiful dogs are amazing with people, even when aggressively playing with them under the moonlight they were simply having fun with me! And sitting here writing this I realize how they keep visitors SAFE by keeping other animals like Bear and Wolves AWAY from the property and visitors, food storage, camp fires etc.
Although today I wanted to talk about Sledding & 4 Wheeling private trails, great home cooked meals, fishing on the lake, wheelchair amenities for boat access even, I'll leave that for another day and for you to discover for yourself ;)
Thanks & Sincerely,
Ryan Tarrant

We are a group of three family members that just spent 4 days here fishing, atv'ing and bear hunting and had a great time. The cabins are well equipped and have the comforts of home. The owner certainly takes pride in his lodge and the amenities that he offers to his guests and he also ensures that his guests are taken care of and are comfortable. The fishing was good and the atv trail riding was fun and sometimes challenging...my 9 year old son had a blast. We would highly recommend this outfit to anyone interested in the outdoors, wildlife photography, fishing, hunting and atv or snowmobile adventures.

Friendly owner and staff, stellar service. Good fishing, comfortable boats with swivel seats, live well, fish finder. Lake is beautiful.
Regarding other reviews here: Dogs are super friendly, and well behaved. Cute too.
