A great place to go fishing! Our hotel room was cozy, clean and comfortable. McLennan Lake that the Lodge is on , has fish but the lakes nearby are better. Our hosts were awesome!!! Roxanne and.Doug went out of their way to make sure everything was good for their guests . Plenty of fish to catch there. The boat and motor was safe and ran great. We can't wait to go back!!!

We had never stayed at Moose Horn Lodge close to Chapleau, Ontario before. We booked in (being Canadian - we used the e-transfer banking to send our deposit) and then paid cash for the balance upon arrival.
This was a family affair (we've been going on these father-son trips for many years) and we ended up finally meeting with our friendly accommodating hosts. Many returned emails consummated into a face to face encounter!
The lodges were fantastic! Very beautiful and contemporary inside - but we're not spending time in front of computers, tvs or tablets while we're on vacation - the rest of the year is time enough for that! Shut off the cell phone - except for pictures!
Exactly as their pictures show, the inside of our lodge was precisely depicted.
(Nice to have 2 bathrooms in our lodge too...chili and baked beans can work magic on some people...LOL!)
The boat / motor / lodging prices are very affordable and the instructions that Doug gives for all motor rentals ensures you have confidence and ability to work with his equipment.
Lots of bait for fishing with expert advice for whatever species you're going after. Doug can put you on the lakes, but he's not responsible for you being a lousy fisherman! LOL! (We never got skunked and much rather boated plenty of fish - but our group believes in conservation and keep only the eaters...big fish go back for future generations to enjoy the sport of fishing!)
Roxann does a fantastic job of booking everyone in and ensures that you don't have to wait too long to get settled into your lodge upon your arrival.
There's plenty of activities to do - our group made use of the hot tub every night...a soothing end after bouncing around in a fishing boat for long hours. The fish cleaning station is well used with many people getting their fish species ready for consumption or travel back home.
We stayed in August 2017. The weather we had went full gamut - cold enough to almost snow to hot enough to sunburn without sunscreen...the bugs were almost non-existent and the sun tried to outnumber the rain clouds during our week.
The only complaint we had (it was 100% prevalent in our group) was....having to leave! (Some day we will retire...and we will book in for 2 weeks..but until that happens...we'll book again for our weekly stay.)
The prices here are reasonable, the hosts very accommodating, equipment is reliable and the fishing is fantastic for eater-sized fish.
Remember -> it's called FISHING not CATCHING -> some days you actually have to work for your fish!
See you in August 2018 Doug and Roxann!
(Many thanks for letting us visit you this year and we look forward to seeing you again.
Merry Christmas and wishes for a Healthy Happy Prosperous New Year! )

Hospitality was hands down the best that I've ever experienced. Clean well kept cabins. Staff was extremely knowledgeable of the different lakes in the area and helped to point you in right direction to catch the species that you were targeting.
