After an exhausting search for daycare for my Lola, I was very happy to find Hotel Bark Ave. Their kindness and professionalism was appreciated. Their facilities are clean, and love the layout. Areas to run and lounge inside and out are an added bonus. Lola left happy and was hesitant to leave her new friends. It’s a huge plus that they you call upon arrival and they come out to greet your fur baby. I was amazed there was no barking upon Lola’s entering. Less outside stimulation let’s the dogs focus on the other dogs and their safe environment. Big bonus!!!! They don’t crate them, they are allowed to roam free. Looking forward to using them again.
There simply aren't enough great things to say about this place! Our pup, June, was surrendered to us back in December and she was just terrified of the world. She did okay around other dogs, but was extremely reserved and didn't do well outside. We tried different programs and trainers, but any progress seemed short-lived and June would just regress - sometimes further than she was and it became quite difficult tackling day to day tasks with her as she doubled down on her separation anxiety. Then we stumbled on Hotel Bark Ave...and we cannot even begin to express how grateful we are to them and their staff! In a couple of months, Chris and Kevin helped pinpoint and address behavioral markers with June so she could lead a better quality of life! She now willingly plays with toys and engages with dogs in and out of daycare! AND we can even leave her at home without her losing her mind barking! There's a weight limit to the facility, and they do a wonderful job mixing dogs of varied sizes in order to curb any reactivity - June is a 12lb Morkie and it's been amazing to see her pay with dogs 5 times her size! She's listening to commands, and actively learning on a daily basis. We are so grateful to have stumbled across this hidden gem, and have even considered adding another pup to our family now that June is pumped about being part of a pack!
My pug has been going to Hotel Bark Avenue for 8 months and has done both daycare and overnights. She loves it there and I feel so comfortable leaving her with the staff. They are open to food/medicine asks too! She has the best time and its so fun watching their day over instagram. Big Fan!
HOTEL BARK AVE is AMAZING! Kevin and the team go above and beyond for all the pups, and they have a very large outdoor space where the dogs can play outside throughout the day! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and so thankful to have found a space where Buster has a lot of friends to play with.
I was so excited to take my puppy F. to this daycare. The five star reviews and backyard completely won me over. Unfortunately, during F’s trial, he broke his leg. I was told it was because he jumped off of something and landed wrong. Since this happened within the first ten minutes of his trial, I firmly believe he should have been watched closer as the daycare learned F’s temperament and abilities F has been to daycare before and had no issues!. With that being said, they did work with their insurance and are covering 2500 dollars of the surgery. However, that is less than 50% of his total care, not to mention the time it takes to care for a puppy on restricted activity for over a month. I completely understand that accidents happen, but I do think it’s important to know that this can happen to your pup if you take them here. I’d recommend taking your dog to a slightly more boring but much safer daycare instead. 6000 dollars and a two month recovery is quite the serious accident.
Easily the best doggy daycare in the city. Crate-less “Disneyland” for your dogs. Indoor and outdoors- Kevin and Chris are incredible with the pups- with videos posted to IG everyday and incredible photos see attached taken each stay, we couldn’t be happier! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE BULK PACKAGE!
Stay away if you love your dog. It appears dogs getting hurt are a common thing here. Something is wrong. It looked like a good place but is anything but that. Down $7000 operation and now our dog has ptsd : Our Dog got a dislocated hip when we boarded him here. We picked him up, he was limping badly, they said it “just happened and it’s probably a pulled muscle.” NO ONE CALLED US when the incident happened! They said a bigger dog pounced on him and they had taken the dog out of the pack because he was too big. We were LIED TO BY KEVIN about how much he ate. Our dog lost 25% of his body weight then when we picked him up which is a lot for a 14lb dog. He was emaciated. That tells you he was injured early in the 5 night stay. They said he “ate all his food” then handed us back more then half of what we left for him for the duration. IT COST US $7000 so far. Kevin and Chris became defensive and took zero responsibility. Unprofessional and terrible customer service in addition to abusing the animals as in the previous post seems to be a pattern here. Terrible place Terrible people. You both should be ashamed.
