This is an excellent & challenging middle school. I feel that math their greatest strength. History with Mrs. Stawecki is also a great/challenging class where your student will learn a lot. However all core subjects are intense. The main downfalls at Howard are similar to most schools, underfunded art & music. The gym class is very poor as well.

I am a sixth grader at Howard. This school has good teachers and they have a good advanced program. It does concern me though that there are police officers roaming the school all the time. I know it’s for safety, but that’s what makes me nervous. We shouldn’t even need them in the first place. The halls are pretty bad too. Kids are running and using way bad language behind the adult’s backs. Once some tall kid was running at lighting speed and slammed right into me! He didn’t even say sorry, and he just kept running. Other than those minor problems, Howard is a great school!

I have been going here from 6th to now 8th grade. There is a lot of profanity, and it's a bit rough in the hallways, but I genuinely learned so much. Send your kid here if you want them to have a great academic career. At the moment, I am taking 4 high school classes, and I'm in programs like NJHS. This has opened so many options and chances for me in high school. it is a ton of work, and staying up late, but in the end, I think its all worth it.

This is a pretty good school but there are a few problems. As a magnet student I've gotten so much homework that I have to stay up until 11:00 pm finishing it. Then there's the problem with the teachers. Most of them are great teachers but some are rude and totally bully you just out of spite for children. Instead of calmly saying please stop running they scream at you to stop. They should treat children like human beings not slaves. Teachers please be a little nicer to kids
