Hughes Home Maid Chocolate Shop

An unassuming chocolate shop that has been serving DELICIOUS treats for over 75 years. It's a small basement but it's not what you would expect and well worth the visit. They have a variety of chocolates from milk to dark and some have different flavored filling. They make fresh chocolate daily and it's is well known throughout the region.

I've been getting dark puddings from here since I was a tiny thing. My grandmother would send them to me for Christmas, and then the bigger eggs for Easter. I finally visited the source myself and tried the dark caramels. They were delicious. The coating was maybe a tad too thick but it didn't detract from my enjoyment one bit. The facility itself is in a basement and there's room for about 2 adults and a small dog. B the staff is friendly and v efficient. Prices and choices are clearly posted.

Delicious chocolates! If you are visiting on Christmas or Easter, be prepared to wait in line. It is a very small chocolate shop, but definitely worth the wait!

Best Chocolates ever! I'm from NYC and Mrs. Skurr brought a box of chocolates from this local place. Simply delicious!

If you think you're lost, you're probably in the right place, as this business is in the basement of a home in an older residential area. However weird, it is WORTH IT! They have amazing chocolates, milk and dark, have Easter specialty items, and will ship for you. Favorites include "puddings", which are truffles, and "oysters" which are not seafood, but chocolate covered vanilla creams, dusted with chopped peanuts. They take plastic.
