Hy-Vee

Selection was fantastic, experience was perfect up until the registers. Zach the assistant manager and his coworkers kept goofing off and it seemed like I was bothering him in the middle of it, given the annoyed expression he gave me when I placed my items on the conveyor belt after waiting for him to greet me, which he never did. In fact, he didn't say a word the whole purchase, as he kept trying to keep up with his coworkers conversation. My boyfriend was rudely instructed on how to put bags in our cart, since he apparently doesn't have any common sense according to Zach. I came to this Hy-Vee because I always have a much better experience here, but I was unpleasantly surprised.

I've grown to love HyVee after passionately hating it for years. Yes, prices are higher. Yes, a bit more pretentious clientele. Yes, they seem sexist because 90% of checkers are teen girls while teen boys do more physical labor. Still, the quality is good. This fresh. And that one really hot stocker woman whip works late nights... 😀

There really a helpful smile in every isle. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that to get many specials you have to buy 3, or even 4 of something. As a grandma and lives alone on a fixed income I can't get many of the specials. Bummer

Great produce and a Starbucks right inside. Only complaint is that during busy times, expect to have a walk to your car. Gets very busy

Great selection of meats, cheese and produce. Best supermarket in the region for vegan and vegetarian selections. Best gluten-free store in the Dakotas.
