I liked the place. A lot of what other negative reviewers state is true: super small bathrooms, old furniture and patch jobs here and there. But who cares. The beds were super comfy, shower was nice and hot, TV was nice. It’s a good hotel despite its age. The rooms are reasonably priced and ALL the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. If you want a gigantic bathroom and the newest furniture possible then stay at a $400 a night hotel. The only reason I docked it 2 stars is they have what would normally be a complimentary breakfast bar at hotels..it was $18 freaking…COME ON HYATT!!!
I booked a King Bed with Club Access room. Prior to coming to the hotel I called and inquired as to what amenities were included with this booking class. I was told on the phone that upon check in I would be given drink coupons and appetizer coupons as well as vouchers for breakfast. Upon checking in there was no mention of any vouchers and when I asked about what I was told on the phone I was made to feel as if I was asking too much to be given what I was told and the person that I was dealing with had to get approval to get my vouchers. I do not feel that 1 drink voucher per person was reasonable since when going to other properties with Club Access you are allowed multiple drinks and food. You should probably in the future give out 2 drink vouchers per person. However on a positive note I did feel that the 1 appetizer voucher per person was good since the portions of the appetizers were plentiful and the quality of them was great. I was also told that the Regency Club is NOT open and there is no definite plan of when it will be open. You probably should not continue to sell this rate if the Club is not open and also if your staff at the front desk does not acknowledge what room class is booked and offer the vouchers to the customer without the customer having to ask and making the quest feel awkward. Currently your property is still selling Club Access rooms. We used are breakfast vouchers at the restaurant without an issue UNTIL we went to check out and I noticed that we were charged for breakfast even though we turned in our vouchers to the host at the restaurant. I then had to spend time prior to leaving your property to speak with the front desk to get the charges for breakfast removed. Hopefully you can use some of this information to make stays for others better in the future.
The room was so cold we had to call maintenance. They told us to just wait. It never got higher than 69 degrees even with the heater running in high the entire time we were there. It was the coldest day of the year so there was a reason for it but it was not fun just laying under the covers all day. There was also food from a previous guest I'm our fridge... The gym was nice and clean so I made good use of it and the atrium of the hotel was cool. It's in a good location I walked to the Canary Cafe down the street for great breakfast and it's near the river. Overall, I would recommend another hotel in the area but this one was okay in a pinch.
I plan on staying here again had a great time and lots of fun things to do nearby. Room was very nice but could use thicker blankets. They were very thin but overall a great experience at the hotel.Rooms: 5/5
While accommodating for late arrival was nice, the hotel itself was in need of repairs and updates. The curtains in my room were stained, no real blankets on the bed. Just layers of cheap sheets The reeked of pot almost everywhere. During check out, I asked what my total would be, and the agent stated a flat rate. I asked about tax...."No," was the answer and not only was the tax includedno biggie, they charged me DOUBLE the "flat rate". Additionally, $28 dollars to park, and no security other than cameras in the parking garage. People were drunk and high almost on top of my car. Milwaukee is a dive, but Hyatt is no longer living up to its once respected name. Go ANYWHERE else but here. Spend your hard-earned money anywhere but the Hyatt in Milwaukee. Awful.
I am usually not one to leave reviews but Richard's service at the bar Julep was exceptional. I got in right before a conference ended and a rush of 80+ people came to the bar to order. Richard was the only one working the bar and, despite the insane rush, was so friendly with everyone and provided fast service. He stayed after when the bar was supposed to close to serve all these people. I think he deserves a huge raise for his composure and exceptional service during such a challenging and overwhelming time. Thanks Richard!
Let me preface with this with the fact I am not a bougie person, but I do expect respectful employees, quietness after certain hours, and kept up rooms for what should be a *4* star hotel. The rooms needs MAJOR renovations! I chose to do other ways to waste time instead of being in my room, if that says anything. No one told me there was a club here…so turns out, if you stay even 6 floors up, you can since ever word right along with Usher and Beyoncé. When I called to ask about it, at 10:05, they said “yeah, that’s the club” and literally hung up on me. Never been treated like this at a hotel. I decided to try this hotel out after staying someplace else my prior 3 trips. Morale of the story: the grass isn’t greener. Spend the money, it’s worth it. This is 2 stars, not 4.
Always a trustworthy place to stay. Right by Fiserv and Panther Arena. Numerous restaurants and bars are within walking distance. The hotel was a little understaffed, but a big event was going on, and to be honest, what place isn't understaffed right now? Rooms could use some new pillows though!Rooms: 4/5
Definitely NOT 4-star. Old, run down linens and carpets, loose garbage in the hallways, moldy showers/shower heads, uncomfortable mattresses, a phone to the front desk that won’t connect, a “text the front desk” number on the website that doesn’t work - and, best of all, being woken up by a bunch of screaming pageant kids this morning as they prepped for the competition we didn’t know was happening here. Don’t stay here unless you get a huge discount - it’s just gross and we wasted our money.
My overall stay wasn't awful. But it started with absolutely no where to park. Which forced us to have to use vallet parking. An additional $40 just to part at the hotel. The hotel did not care. Made for an overall bad time. I had things in my vehicle I needed which I could not get.Rooms: 3/5
