Avoid this company. A plumber let himself in and removed our dishwasher, while my pregnant wife was sleeping "oops wrong apartment" they said. They're jacking up our rent almost 60% after a one year lease. Poor communication from the office, you have play phone tag with a handful of people to get anything done. They are the epitome of the worst you would expect from a corporate management company. We will never rent from them again. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

NEVER SIGN WITH THESE SNAKES. They were terrible from the start. Should've known not to sign after just meeting Zach Levine, the slimiest agent I've ever met. They started renovating the apartment before we moved in and day 1 was full of wet paint, contractors coming in and out, and bugs everywhere! They wouldn't pay for us to stay anywhere else for the first couple nights and just told us to clean out the sawdust ourselves, avoid touching the walls, and just sleep there for the night. Our apartment rent cost $11,000+/mo and they couldn't even be bothered with giving us enough keys to match the number of bedrooms??? They said they'd reach out about setting up the electricity bill and NEVER DID. They're so sneaky, they would just email us to come to the office to meet in-person without saying anything else. Expect a small claims court case.

Gonna be honest - about as good as you can expect from a landlord in NY. They hardball on pricing for sure, but you know what you’re signing up for up front. Otherwise they were nothing but professional, responsive to issues, no funny business on the safety deposit, etc. Would not hesitate to rent from them again.

They let brokers into my apt without permission several times within my last month there. Don't reply to emails as usual.

Leaving an excellent review here. We rented with Icon for over 5 years, between two apartments. Like every NYC apartment there were issues but generally Icon was responsive. They worked with us always and we’re helpful & professional. Zero apartment rentals are perfect but I felt compelled to leave a 5 star review here because I have read other reviews on here for Icon that are pretty poor and every experience is different for sure but ours was solid. Shout out to you guys at Icon.

I was a recent tenant of Icon and truly miss living in their units. Not only are the apartments brand new with stainless steal appliances but the staff is friendly and accommodating to the tenants needs. I moved to New York and in two weeks was able to find an apartment that was in my price range with the help of Icon. My apartment even had a washer and drawer in my unit which is almost an urban myth living in Manhattan. Never had an issue living there. The staff was phenomenal and great. Not only are the apartments beautiful but they are in great locations for any type of neighborhood you would be looking for. Icon worked with my personally to help me accommodate my needs. I can't tell you that appreciation. I am expecting my security deposit any day! You hear horror stories living in Manhattan about slum-lords and management companies robbing you of every dime they can but this truly was not the case.

DO NOT BELIEVE THE FALSE REVIEWS POSTED BY PEOPLE THAT WORK FOR THEM. Just Google Icon Reality and the $500K they settled with the NYC Attorney General and you will get a small taste of who they really are as a company. They will claim rooftops being built only to never to be even have a permit to do so. Their ‘refurbished’ apartment are done with terrible construction often without permits. Their units fall apart due to shoddy/cheap work. I have lived in one of their ‘penthouse’ units only to see people lied to, literally 100% turnover due to false advertising and a huge increase in rent after a year, maintenance not repair things and claim its repaired, doors literally rot and fall apart and management lie about repairs or construction. Not to mention the terrible customer service. They will get you with a deal to sign the lease and rip you off your entire lease when things break or are ‘pending’. Nor will you ever see the actual things they claim as amenities they claim are in progress. I literally was told I’d have a private rooftop and have paid through the nose for it only to realize they never even had a permit for one. But they did get a permit to install restaurant ventilation right above my unit. Now my unit smells like chicken and pizza grease and I still have no actual rooftop. You’ve been warned.

Horrible experience. We lost so much money. The unit we rented, ICON had just purchased with the expectation of gutting the building. But of course, they didn’t tell us this when we rented the unit. We were there for only 1 year, and they kicked everyone else out in the building. They filled the building while they pulled permits. NOTHING WAS FIXED. We didn’t have hot water for the entire time. The boiler needed to be replaced a decade ago, but they didn’t want to put a new one in because in a year, they would be gutting everything. There were mice and cockroaches that they didn’t deal with. Our buzzer broke so they just dismantled it instead of fixing it. Literally anything that went wrong which was a lot they didn’t fix. They are sketchy and don’t care about you at all. Do yourself a favor and run far far away. You will be thankful you did.
