Independent Ale House

This is the finest drinking establishment in Rapid City. Their row of taps is about 50 feet long, and the ever-changing beer list is on a giant chalkboard on the wall above it. They have some nice bottled imports as well, but you want something on draft. They only serve one kind of food here, but they do it incredibly well: flatbread pizza. If want a big food menu, go to Murphy's, but if you want the largest beer list in South Dakota and some phenomenal pizza, this is the spot.

Great staff, decent prices, terrific pizza! While watching all the options scroll by, a guy at a neighboring table asked if we knew about the app DigitalPour. Handy little app that Independent is registered at. You can see what is on tap from your phone! Excellent way to keep up with tech while still feeling like a comfortable local bar. We'll be back!

Great local place! We stopped in for Pizza and it was so packed upstairs that we decided to check out the basement. Every spot in the place has different feel and not all were insanely busy. The staff was knowledgeable and fun and it was a great place for an app or full meal. a gem in the heart of downtown Rapid City!

5/11/18 7-10p The place was busy and even with that both waitresses were running around ensuring everyone was being attended to...even the drunk ones....the service is really the reason this place didn’t get 3 stars because the food was without much flavor, the three pigs pizza that is. The flavor of the Thai pizza was delicious but an inch of crust just made the pizza small for $13.

Decent pizza - not the best I've had but good. The tap list is the reason to go. And the bartenders are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. A must stop on your Rapid City stay.
