Indianapolis Animal Care Services is the state's largest animal shelter with an average annual intake of 14,000 animals. In addition to being a lost and found resource, the shelter has wonderful animals for adoption, a successful volunteer program, and is the enforcement agency for animal-related laws in the city of Indianapolis/Marion County.
Please note: Animal Intake Hours of Operation are different than the Shelter Hours of Operation. Animal Intake is open 6 days per week from 12 noon - 5 p.m. We are closed to the public on Wednesdays.
