Loved this inn!! Was here for the Eras tour. Super clean and cute. Loved how close it was to Bourbon street and everything in the French quarter was walking distance. Parking is $40 a night but worth because it’s in a gated parking lot so I loved the peace of mind my car was safe. Plan to use this inn again in the future!Rooms: 5/5
The staff was pleasant . The location was great because it was next to bourbon street. The room was decent but was missing the key things like a microwave , a fridge , a table to eat at , the ac KICKIN in and out . They need to fix the stairs as well because you can easily fall and hurt yourself with how narrow they are. We paid 447 for 3 nights and had to waste so much food behind them not having a microwave .
Not the worst place I've ever stayed, but certainly had some issues. The most concerning was the smoke detector in the room: on arrival, the smoke detector unit seemed to be removed/only partially installed, and was beeping. When I spoke to the front desk staff, they assured me that it was a "documented, high priority concern" for their maintenance staff, and that someone would be along shortly to resolve it. I stayed a total of five days, four nights, and by the time I checked out, it was still not resolved. This is particularly concerning, considering that this is an older building, with lots of wood, and both smoking/non-smoking rooms. A fire on the location would have been absolutely devastating, and the lack of concern over such an obvious safety concern is disappointing. General hotel service also seemed to be lacking: there was no housekeeping to speak of in the entirety of my stay, and we had to stop at the front desk and ask for refills on basic amenities tissues, toilet paper, etc. Some of the amenities of the hotel are also not on this specific property: The swimming pool, hot tub which was out of service for the entirety of my stay, and parking lot is not on site, but at the Lamothe House Hotel, which is about three blocks away. Parking is also an additional fee on top of the nightly room cost, at $40/night. Rooms: The building is old and it is noticeable in the rooms. Accessibility is an issue if you're on one of the upper floors, as I was. The stairs are steep and unsteady, and every entrance/doorway was incredibly narrow. The double doors to the room itself only opened on one side, so you'd have to walk in sideways to actually enter or exit the rooms. The layout would be impossible to navigate with any mobility aids, wheelchair, crutches, walker, etc. It wasn't immediately clear, but the air conditioning only turns/stays on if both the inner door and outer door of the room are closed fully, which was sometimes and issue, as the inner door had a very old bolt that was difficult to latch and difficult to keep closed. The floors themselves were also uneven and at a significant slant. Luggage would roll from one side of the room to the other, and walking without shoes made it difficult to keep upright. Safety: While in the heart of the French Quarter, I felt safe at this location. There is an iron gate that requires a keycard to get into the courtyard, as well as each individual room needing a keycard for entry as well. There is a significant homeless population in the city in general, but around the entrance to the hotel I was left alone, even when coming/going after dark. Walkability: Incredibly walkable. Very close to bourbon street, and easy to go to/from anywhere in the French Quarter, French Markets, Jackson Square, etc, by foot.
I had stayed at the Inn on St Peter in 2019, so knew what to expect in terms of the hotel: vintage property, one bed in room, a bathroom, the absolute basics but with NOLA charm. So my disappointment began when I thought we had booked for a great price directly through their website not third party and upon check-in, received an invoice for the "balance" that was double what we paid online. Telling the front desk staff this, she just said "this is what you owe now" and with few choices, we paid it. After dropping our things in the room and heading to lunch, we came back to a wet floor and my husband's shoes soaked. The AC unit had begun leaking and when we went to the front desk again, a different employee shrugged and gave us more towels and recommended we put our trash can below the unit. We did just that and had to empty out the trash can when it filled with water every day we were there. We also did not receive a backup trash can so we took our trash with us when we left the room. I was prepared for a vintage experience and understand it's an old property but the tricky online advertising of pricing and the lack of customer service when our AC was leaking is what has resulted in this review. We will not be staying again.
Thanks Gary for making our check in a pleasant one. After booking through a second party website, my reservation cancelled. Gary so kindly accommodated me and had me in a room in no time! The advantage of booking direct. I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent service.Rooms: 5/5
No windows which was really disorienting and made waking up difficult. The room is pretty lackluster, having to duck to walk in and out of it added to the cave-like feeling. It was very difficult to check in, there was nobody working there when I got there to drop my bags then again when I came back after check in time. They really need to actually fix the door that leads to the courtyard, you have to slam it to get the latch to click. Otherwise the location is good. Staff is friendly. The AC works really well.
Very nice stay here. It's an old building, so not everything is perfect narrow stairs, sound proofing. Overall, I was pleased with the clean room, bag drop for my inconvenient flight times, and great location on the edge of the French Quarter and near Frenchman Street. Exactly what I was looking for.Hotel highlightsGreat value
For the price I paid, this couldn't be beat. It's in the French quarter but in a quieter area. Checkin was quick and efficient. The rooms were fine and the wifi worked well. I could hear into the next room, and agreed with them that the shower water pressure wasn't that great. Rooms: The room was nice. It was on the second floor which requires some stairs. Walkability: The area around the hotel is very walkable. Realized how walkable downtown/French quarter of New Orleans are.
Front desk was super polite and kind we will be back and had such a great stay Nearby activities: Bourbon is right around the corner and was a short walk to having fun. Safety: The gates are safety locked and the area was quiet and nice Walkability: Everywhere you want to visit in the French quarter is lest than 3 minute walk away
Great location right around the corner from Bourbon Street, while it's quiet. An old authentic house and courtyard. Clean room, bed linen, towels. we stayed for two nights, the room was cleaned and towels were changed. The room was in the courtyard on the 2nd floor, with very steep stairs to climb, especially with luggage. A very small room, somewhat reminiscent of a ship's cabin, is very cramped for two adults. The room is of course old and in need of renovation. The bathroom is made of some kind of stone. The floors are very cold. Very cold walls in the shower can't be leaned against. the shower is very cramped. There was no hot water in the faucet. The bed is not comfortable, the pillows are not comfortable. The only thing is if you sleep drunk after going to bars, then of course you don't notice all this.
