I had wanted to go here for a longtime but I was disappointed when I eventually visited this mosque. Not sure if it was just that night or they dont have ACs ever because it was very hot. They only prayed 8 rakhats of taraveh and after taraveh the maintenance guy didnt let anyone stay back to offer prayers, he was in a rush to drive everyone out and close the mosque. The mosque itself is beautiful.

It's a piece of art. Friday lectures is in English. If you go right before the street cleaning time finish you can find a parking spot easy otherwise there are plenary of parking meter or parking spots if you drive around the blocks nearby. Eid prayer is special as the beautiful city of NY assign police officers to close the street where the rear entrance for Muslins to park their cars. There are subway stations nearby as well. Jumaa/Friday prayer is always at 1:00 pm no matter it's a summer or winter time and doesn't take more than 35 to 40 minutes including the prayer. ------ Friday street cleaning :- * you have between 3rd Ave and park Ave, street cleaning finishes at 11:30 am, so if you are there at 11:00 you can get a spot or * between 2nd Ave and 1st Ave street cleaning ends at 1:00 pm, so if you get there 12:30/12:45 you can get a spot or park on a meter on 2nd Ave where the bus lane restriction starts at 2:00pm... plenty of options.

Al hamdu lillah, I've had many opportunities to pray Salatu Jumu'ah Services in the early 90s through 03 and have visited on other occasions, with the many Muslims who I found (if not all) many are warm and friendly, even during Ramadhan... Now I'm in Columbia SC USA, attending the the Islamic Center of Columbia, with our imam Shaikh Muhammad Adly, may Allah bestow His blessings on us ameen.
