My 2 year old Portuguese Water Dog, Runa, and I started handling classes with Linda a few weeks ago. We came in knowing nothing about handling or confirmation. I had concerns that my dog would get bored or overwhelmed with all the other dogs in the class. My fears were immediately removed upon meeting Linda. She assured me that she would guide in me through the whole process and we would work within my dogs abilities. Linda has been extremely patient and very clear with her instruction. She brings a high level of expertise to the class, with years of experience as to what judges are looking for. She walks us through many possibilities without overwhelming the class with information. Runa and I always leave with productive homework. Our experience has been very positive with Linda, and I look forward to working with her again and again.

I took my boxer there a few years ago when I moved to the area. He was professionally trained, a certified therapy dog, and simply a delight. Everyone that knew him was amazed at his intelligence and loving personality. He was a big hit when I took him to nursing homes, schools, and hospitals. Sometimes I took him solo, sometimes in a group with other therapy dogs. Never did he show the slightest bit of aggression towards other dogs or people.
For several months he spent several days a week at It's a Dog's World. The handlers there said he was wonderful and that they frequently put him with puppies because he was so good with them.
One day I went to pick him up and was informed that he was no longer allowed there because he had badly bitten another dog. The girl said she could tell me no more than that, that I needed to speak with the owner, Dawn. It took her two days to return my calls. She said he was lying on a dog bed and suddenly leapt up, completely unprovoked, ran across the room and bit a cocker spaniel on the ear. I told her that wasn't possible and asked to speak to the handler that was there when it happened, so I could get her first-hand account. Dawn told me no, and that I was no longer welcome.
I took my dog to the vet for a thorough exam on the off chance there was some medical reason he would've behaved so uncharacteristically. He got a clean bill of health. I didn't believe for a moment that he did what Dawn said he did, but as there was nothing I could do I found another daycare for him. They never had a negative thing to say about him.
Several months later I met a woman at a local pet shop and we got to talking about dogs. I was telling her about my dog and his success as a therapy dog, and mentioned I used to take him to Dog's World until the owner barred him. Well, proof of what a small world it is, this woman used to work for Dawn. Not only did she work there, but she was there the day he supposedly bit the other dog. She admitted to me that it had NEVER HAPPENED. She said Dawn did not like boxers, and one day told all the workers that boxers would no longer be allowed at daycare. There were only a few, and she lied to all their owners and told them similar stories.
So, beware of this woman and facility. It was a very unethical and unprofessional thing for her to do. I never believed my dog did what she accused him of, and it was a relief to know the truth.

It's a Dog's World has been a great resource for our family and our Walker Coon Hound, Blue. We've participated in the Basic Manners class which was wonderful and provided us with strategies to communicate with our dog in an effective way - Even our 4 year old can use the commands and our dog listens to her! Blue also participates in doggy daycare 3 days weekly. She loves to play with the other dogs and comes home pleasantly exhausted. The It's a Dog's World Staff are knowledgeable and warm. Most importantly, they truly love the dogs!

Our dog Otis really enjoys It's a dog world. They are very professional and ensure your dog is with the proper group of dogs. They really know how to handle the dogs well and have an excellent system. The application process gives you comfort knowing they just don't take any dog and gives you the sense your dog is going to a safe environment. I have heard many people say how great they are and I agree.
