J.A. Laporte Flowers & Nursery

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The plants are of great quality, and the prices are reasonable. All in all, the best place you can go to buy plants in the east end of Ottawa. I've been going for years, my parents went all the time when they lived in the area, so that's my verdict.

It's a beautiful nursery with lots annuals and perennials flowers and plants, veggies and fruits, shrubs, bushes and trees. They have a large selection of plant food, garden accessories and decorations. They also have water and wetland plants. They have soil, mulch and petemoss that you can purchase by the bag of by the load. Most of the staff are quite friendly and so knowledgeable. The man helping helped us select plants for inside the house. The tree selection is well varied from traditional local trees to exotics that do well in our climate. This place is as accessible as a nursery can be with wide aisles and as level as possible grounds. They have portapotties for customers and one is accessible. This is a nice place for kids. They love the play structure in the middle of the nursery surrounded by flowers and benches. Prices are clearly indicated and the instructions for plants are quite clear when you take them home. I've been coming to this place since for as long as I remember (1985?) And they just keep getting better. If my review was helpful please give me a thumbs up.

Great nursery. Huge selection of plants, vegetables, trees and everything for your garden, including a hot and humid section on tropical plants. I like to visit it often to explore plants and see what's new here. Family run business and very friendly people.
