I would not recommend Matt Guy Principle Broker as an agent. I was referred to him from a good friend thinking he would have my best interests in mind when buying my home, but he only had his own interests in mind. I was hit with a $30,000 assessment after living in the place for 3 years. His buddy home inspector Hopkins failed to tell me how much a new deck on a 3rd story would cost $20,000. They also didn't bother to measure the sqft which was 100sqft smaller than on the rmls. I could have negotiated these things during the purchase but thought these two had me covered. These are basic things that you trust a realtor and inspector with that ended up costing me at least $40,000 in 5 years. When Covid occured, I asked Matt for help selling my condo and he was going to charge me 6% when my place went down in value. What a Guy, thanks for nothing dude. I ended up finding a great realtor that only charged me 4% to sell.
If purchasing a home is a new venture for you, we one thousand percent recommend Ben Samson! During our first meeting, Ben explained the joy and passion he has, especially when guiding first-time homeowners. It was very apparent early on that we made the right choice when choosing Ben to help us find our dream home. He’s a fantastic communicator, counselor, and overall great resource to have. As of officially one week, my husband and I are first-time homeowners. We could not be more thankful to have had Ben on our team throughout the entire process.
Based on some recommendations we got in touch with LRR and worked with Tracey - and it was incredible. We are first-time home-buyers so were very nervous and had a difficult time figuring out exactly what we wanted in a house. Tracey guided us through step by step with professional fervor, experience, and joy. In the houses she educated us on repairs, color schemes, remodel potential, and resale value. Once we put in an offer she and her new colleague Carly quickly lined up all inspections, meeting people at the house several times a day and had everything done far ahead of schedule. They were supportive and informative every step of the way - we never felt in the dark or confused about anything. We learned a great deal from her and they found us a beautiful home that we are delighted to call ours. We would recommend Tracey or Carly in a second to anybody looking to buy or sell. Someday if we want to move, we know exactly who to call.
I worked with Aryne Blumklotz and her partner Dulcinea Myers-Newcomb this summer to buy my first home. After 12 years living, working and renting in Portland I wasn't sure I would ever be able to realize my dream of owning a home here in this beautiful city where I had grown up and put down roots. I'm so glad that when the opportunity came, I entrusted Living Room with the process. Aryne worked so, so hard for us. She helped us clarify our thoughts and goals as first time home-buyers. We wanted to squeeze every drop of value out of our price range. This meant an ongoing conversation around how much importance to give this detail or that one, one quality of this home over a different quality in that one, balancing rational arguments with the "gut feelings" that are such a big part of our feelings about our living spaces. She listened to EVERYTHING and got it - the properties she showed us reflected our sensibilities completely. With her years of experience and knowledge of the Portland market, she was able to steer us away from properties that were misleadingly listed in our price range, saving us time chasing bait meant for bigger fish. She was tireless in arranging site visits with different contractors during the inspection period so we could know exactly what we were getting into - she set up free bids with electricians, plumbers, roofers, sewer inspectors, carpenters, HVAC, seismic experts, chimney masons - not once, BUT TWICE after our first contract didn't work out. She ran all of this while coordinating with recalcitrant sellers and hostile renters. Her gracious professionalism, unimpeachable availability and tenaciousness allowed us to be certain that we had done our utmost due diligence. And beyond all that, Aryne is fun! Driving around see to properties together was a treat. In the end, we found the home of my dreams - a vintage farmhouse in Montavilla with incredible light and a huge yard. When I think about working with Aryne + Dulcinea at Living Room realty, I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. It would be impossible to overstate how incredible our experience working with them was.
Shannon Baird and Lance Marrs are absolute rock stars. They navigated my wife and I through the crazy Portland real estate waters and helped us close on our first home, just in time for our first baby arriving a few months later. We couldn't have done it without their expertise, wit and patience throughout the process. If you want someone who knows the ins and outs of PDX and want the job done right, talk to these live savers.
Incredibly unprofessional realtor. Did not present offers to seller as they came in, instead side tabled all offers for a week to incite a bidding war. I'm certain the seller was thrilled, but as for us, we were left with a bad taste in our mouths. In the future, when asked about our experiences, we will be certain to tell our friends and family to avoid this company as they engage in unsavory business practices.
Renewed a lease in my name when i didnt live there. Just finding out about this now 5 years later in a cresit check. Wont return my calls.
Really cool modern office. I Love the attention to detail from everyone in the office. It was a pleasure working with these people. I highly recommend them.
