My experience at the Jewish Community Center was absolutely disappointing and appalling. This is my very first experience here and we were here for a basketball game with my son's league. The older caucasian lady at the front desk was not welcoming, not helpful, and was rude and would not try to assist me directly. Terry who came down to assist me and the young man with her they were helpful and tried to assist me the best they could they were the managers. Terry was absolutely AWESOME!! She is every bit of what great customer service, empathy, sympathy, love and kindness of God represents. Everyone else should be trained to be like her. I am so grateful that she came to assist, but the outlook of this community center experience quickly went from kind of ok to the absolute worse experience for my first time visiting this place in a matter of 15 minutes. The referees they had refereeing the 11–12-year-old boys basketball game, were horrible. Especially the female referee. She was short, heavy set African American female with long dreads. She was not making calls and parents from the stands were telling her to make calls and what calls to make. She, in return, called the managers and had 3 different parents ejected from the game that came to support their loved ones. She lied on one of the parents saying they threatened her, when everyone near the parent was saying she didn't threaten the referee. The female referee had to stoop this low and lie like this, when all she had to do was call a fair game and ignore the comments being made in the stand. So, this shows the character and morals of the community center. They support liars and wrongdoing, and do not have the children's best interest at heart. The referees allowed their home team to get away with so much stuff. They allowed the boys too play too aggressive, they were not calling the calls right, they allowed boys on both teams to aggressively, without reason, push an opposing player down and nothing was done. There were coaches, ex-basketball players, and ex-referees in the stands that know the rules and game of basketball. The majority of the parents there were disappointed and extremely disgusted with the handling well MISHANDLING of this game tonight. There mandatory mask protocols are an absolute joke. They force you to wear a mask to get in, but then cram tons of parents/spectators all together on small bleachers in a small area to watch their children play. They forced the boys children to play the entire time with masks on, which was uncomfortable for the children. Their gym barely had enough seating for the people at the game. I pray we never have to play here or go to this community center ever again. Basketball for children is supposed to be fun and a learning experience, but all I saw was extremely aggressive children trying to hurt one another and poor examples of referees. I try to train and raise my son to have good sportsmanship, have fun, and play well. This community center showed my son something completely opposite of what I take pride in teaching him.
Great Kosher BBQ and hummus! Just inside the local Jewish Community Center.
Very nice and fun place to go swimming and to workout. They have an inside pool and in the summer time they have an outdoor waterpark. It is very cool and I would recommend signing up and going there. I mostly just swim there with my family because the pools are great. The locker rooms are very nice and clean and fancy. The showers have soap and hot water. The 18+ locker rooms have a hot tub and a sauna room. It is very good. I love it.
LOVE this place! As a mother of 3 and my husband working nearly all day everyday I am practically a single mom.... This place has given me a way to exercise and give the kids a great day care. they always look forward to day care. Day care staff is excellent. They have told me every small booboio my 1 year old might have such as she tripped once and bit her lip. And one other occasion where she tripped and stubbed her toe. I would have never known either of these without them telling me. I appreciate their honesty! Also they are very child friendly and I am very fond of the security guard. I usually stay tuill pretty late and just shower ad dress kids for bed after swimming. The security guard is always nice enough to stand outside with my kids and stuff so I can grab the car and pick them up : Then he is ever so nice to put all my bags into our car. The staff goes above nd beyond in my opinion!
The MJCC is my sanctuary. I find myself here multiple times a week; whether it’s practicing Yoga on Saturday, Soccer, Shooting Hoops, getting in a workout, or completing the Cycle in the Executive Workout Steam, Sauna, Whirlpool, Shower. I always leave feeling better than when I arrived.
Great place to swim, workout etc. People are friendly and the center is well kept. Been a member for over 10 years and would not consider anywhere else.
This is a great facility with all the amenities. I reccomend anyone wanting a family environment start your search here. OH before I forget they have the best wet areas in town, heat pool and all.
Costs a little more than the average gym and worth every dime. The best facilities and best people! I recommend the place to all my close friends. I love it!!!
Do not work here. People will get you fired on purpose. One of the girls who was about to resign didn’t like me due to me being besties with one of the workers sara Barton. She didn’t like her so she got me fired by making up some assumptions. I have done 8 years childcare work all 5 star so why would I be bad in anyway. but these girls not women are gullible to fire someone for no reason I have a 5 month old are you seriously gonna to listen to a childish childless girl? The ceo is useless he seemed to laugh it off. They only care about money.
Linsey chase the director talks down to people due to there skin color I don’t recommend this place and she stutters a lot idk what she is saying half the time or what it’s horrible she is very passive rude I wouldn’t want my babies around these people. Just go else where I took my kid out of this school.
