Hannah O’Donnell is fantastic! Personable, kind, caring, thoughtful, energetic, patient, passionate about styling hair & hair care, and more. And when I found out that she was the stylist for my mom a few weeks ago, that made my experience all the more special. She is going to soar in this career! Hurry and schedule your appointment with her before she graduates in early December 2022!
I saw Samantha today & she did a great job on my cut & color. She was pleasant, listened to what I was looking for, double checked with me before proceeding to verify I was getting the cut I wanted. She told me what she was doing before she started each process. I couldn't have been happier. She graduates in April & whatever salon hires her is lucky.
First coming to the Jean Madeline Institute approximately 5 months ago I expressed my many concerns with the teachers and students with my hair becoming very thin and a lot of breakage. To date the Damage Remedy treatments is working wonders on my hair which is now Very healthy and growing back. Thanks to Student Samantha who is very knowledgeable and very professional on all the products to use on my hair. I am now bring my granddaughter as well.
Student was pleasant, super sweet, and eager to please! I got my hair balayaged and emphasized that I wanted it to be an ashy blonde, which is what I have been getting for years. Unfortunately, my whole head was dyed a warm and orangey color. Student and teacher both justified my concerns but ultimately said that the best option was to leave it as is and acted is if it was just my hair. that was the problem. I am not a hair stylist, but it does not make sense to me that I have had this service done many times before and this has never happened. I expressed my concerns in a kind, polite, and solutions-oriented way because I did not want to make the student feel bad. After all, she really tried. While they acknowledged this was not what I wanted and that my hair was warm rather than ash, they seemed content to let me leave and pay for a service that left my hair in worse shape than when I walked in. I would have preferred for them to communicate from the beginning if something could not be done or take accountability for a mistake, as I still do not truly understand where the disconnect was.
I was excited for my first experience here because I was recommended by a friend who had been here a few times before. I had long hair with layers and I asked for a one-inch trim. The student showed me the one inch she was going to trim off but she ended up cutting off four inches, giving me a blunt cut above what used to be my shortest layer. The blunt cut was neither feathered out or even. I’m unsure of why the instructor approved of the student’s work despite it being uneven. When I got home, I cried the more I saw my reflection, and was so unhappy with my haircut and losing all of my length that I spent a year growing out that I went to a different salon the same day to get it fixed.
Keighty did a wonderful job on my hair! Highly recommend the Aveda Botanical Treatment
I've been coming here for several years and it's always a good experience. Emily D has been my stylist for a while now and has given me some of the best haircuts and highlights I've ever had -- I often have people ask where I got my hair done! The teachers are always friendly and welcoming and supportive of the students -- as well as the rest of the staff. Really love coming and highly recommend it.
