Jim Sarji, DDS - Advanced Gentle Dentistry of Park Slope

Review#1 I have used this facility before and wanted to go again for cleaning but when I called them for an appointment, I was told that everything is booked till May. 3 months in advance is booked for hygienist. Lady who picked up phone was least interested in making any effort of mentioning which date is earliest availability and she was least concern about accepting business. I decided to look for hygienist somewhere else. Review#2 I called to make an appointment second time around and from making an appointment to receptionist to hygienist to doctor, everything was smooth and very professional.

Dr. Kang and Dr. Kostanyan have both been excellent. At my most recent visit Dr. Kang saw me for three separate procedures all within a 90min time period. I had Initially scheduled several appointments - however Dr. Kang was able to complete all of the dental work in one morning. While I appreciate the flexible with scheduling I have also been overall satisfied with the dental work at Advanced Gentle Dentistry of Park Slope.

Avoid this dentist office - Esp Dr. Kang!!! Absolutely the worst and unprofessional dental experience. Today was my second time seeing Dr. Kang for a filling. The first time she was rushing and impatient and I thought it was cause she was busy. However today when I went in for my second filling, as she’s doing the filling she proceeds to chat with her dental assistant about how she rushes through fillings because she doesn’t like doing fillings. She kept mentioning how she only likes doing extractions and root canals. This was while I’m in the middle of my filling that’s she’s saying multiple times that she doesn’t like doing filling. This is obviously upsetting for multiple reasons since I’m a patient and she’s currently doing a procedure on my that she’s saying she doesn’t like doing and that she rushes through. She finally finished my filling partially since she was supposed to do two areas and only did one then handed me a mirror and I noticed a chip in my tooth that she did a filling on to clarify this is my front tooth so I would notice if I ever had a chip there. When I asked her about it she said she didn’t do that and she would be honest with me if she did. All I could think about was how she was doing my filling and talking about how she rushes through fillings. I then looked at a picture of my smile from yesterday and noticed there was no chip there just to ensure I wasn’t crazy! I was going to leave it alone but when I got to the front desk, I felt it was necessary to speak to her again. She came out and when I stated my concerns about her comments during my filling and my chipped tooth, she proceeded to tell me how professional she is and how she’s done thousands of fillings. She said I could speak to the main Doctor, who happened to walk in right when she said that. When she asked him to talk to me he looked over at me and went straight to the back. I didn’t get a chance to speak to the head doctor and I left with a chipped tooth. Extremely unprofessional practice, horrible customer service, and Dr Kang is hands down the worst dentist. No better than the head of the practice who doesn’t care about the health, care, and satisfaction of his patients.

I have been going here for years for cleanings and they odd filling and have always loved them. However, they were so helpful navigating my difficult insurance when I needed some extra dental work this time around, I wanted to call out that they deserve five stars across the board.

Great dentist, I showed up with an emergency with severe pain in my gums and they took me without an appointment. Took X rays and told me quickly what I had and gave me medication. Dr. Jim Sarji is awesome. Lucky to be patient of this office and doctor.

I thought I had a cavity so I made an appt. Here. I went they did x-rays and an exam and found no cavity. But what they did find is that the pain was probably from too much carbonation I love seltzer. He showed me with a mirror that it was causing some gum erosion and that it may had been an exposed nerve. Then they fit me in for a cleaning. It was by far the best cleaning I have ever had in my life. It was a great experience and informative. RIP seltzer.

I finally found an amazing dentist after all years omg. I just literally finished a root canal and I feel amazing best experience ever. Highly recommend to everyone. Their dental office is very clean, the scheduling is flexible, the staff have great energy and friendly. Best of all the dentist is honest but what needs to be done and don’t try to charge work that don’t need to be done. I wasn’t expecting the experience be so gentle but it definitely lives up to their name.

2 stars for being able to schedule an appointment pretty quickly. I was experiencing pain following dental work and wanted a second opinion. The staff at reception was nice and didn’t have to wait long. But once I was back in the exam room the staff I interacted with seemed bored and annoyed with how much detail I was going into some of which was explaining my anxiety which I specifically picked this place to handle. After a 5 min exam the doctor continued to tell me not to worry and everything was fine. Historically telling an anxious person not to worry isn’t the best way of handling things. I’m still dealing with pain but had to find a different office to address.

The doctor saw my mother who had a fallen crown for ‘an emergency’ appointment. After paying $250 my mother saw the tooth fall literally 5 hours after leaving this office. if you have this kind of money, surely don't spend it there, the doctor was rude and clearly unprofessional.

Dr. Kang saw me last minute even stayed late to see me. I was so impressed with her thorough examination and bedside manner. She was informative, caring, respectful and very knowledgeable! I highly recommend her !!
