A unique experience! The Hibachi grill is always fun! Watching the chefs do their routine is great! The food was very good; we walked out happy and stuffed. The place was really busy as expected. I recommend a reservation.

I've been to the cafe side of this restaurant at least 4 times. The food is tasty, the building is beautiful, the price is cheap, and the service is good. However, every time I've been here, the place is crawling with fruit flies. I understand how difficult fruit flies are to get rid of, but this I haven't noticed an improvement in a year. The last time we were ever here we found an earwig in the sushi. It was still alive and wiggling around. We will never be coming back here.

Very good food and service. Beautiful Japanese carvings, displays and Koirala pond outside and inside. Talented Chefs cook and entertain at the table. Reasonable prices. Plenty of food. Enjoy

Was one of my favorite restaurants for many years. So much I have had the number memorized for over 10 years. But either my taste buds or their flavors changed. Took service a little while with our drinks and soups but was to be expected w a large group. I felt as if the steak had dropped in quality, the salad dressing and ginger sauce had even changed and not for the better.. I felt as if they staff at the desk was rude and short both when making a res and when arriving. The cook was great and made my son feel very special. I will go back again to see if it was a fluke but if not I guess it's time to say goodbye to a place that I grew up with.

JMK Nippon is an absolute must have in Rockford. Very easily one of the best restaurants in the Stateline area. The staff are all extremely friendly and nice. The chefs will make you laugh, look in awe, and surprise you every step of cooking your meal. The environment is very relaxing yet fun. It's not that expensive considering how much food you actually get (it's a lot!) combined with the stunning experience. It's the perfect place for birthday parties, business outings, or anything deserving of going out. Tables best accommodate 8, if you have more you ought to make a reservation. Will definitely continue to eat here.
