I placed an online order for yarn that was no available in the store. The label/shipping information was sent to shipping company three days after. I received a notification that it shipped. I waited 5 days and nothing. It was stuck. I contacted customer service, and got the run around, the rep did not understand what I was talking about. I sent an email as to where it was and could they get it moving. They cancelled the order and told me to reorder it online. Seriously? That is not what I wanted, I wanted my yarn. Never was I told I had to call in to get the sale price if the price was different. I called a supervisor and they stated that was their procedure. Since it was "stuck" they consider it lost and cancel the order. Needless to say I ordered it elsewhere and got it next day and cheaper.
They have a lot of fabrics and when I compared some of their price with other store I realized they over pricing it. A plastic jack o lantern pumpkin head not lighting up is $119 while a bigger which light up is $39 at home-depot… you do the math. I wish they were not so overpricing stuff like that
It used to have such a huge inventory of a beautiful assortment but they stopped selling the really unique beads and fabrics and jelly rolls I use for making handbags and now there's just bundles of the same ones and strands of beads that aren't as inspiring as they used to be. The prices are even worse and they don't have the sales and coupons they used to have. Overpriced and needs more variety.
I regret to report an exceedingly disappointing experience at Joann's in Newark, Delaware. During our visit, my wife and I encountered service that was not only subpar but also profoundly disrespectful. Upon bringing our chosen fabrics to the cutting counter, we were met with a staff member whose demeanor was astonishingly condescending. Her patronizing attitude towards us was palpable, marred by a lack of basic courtesy and professionalism that one would expect in any retail establishment, let alone one that prides itself on customer service. The employee's manner was dismissive, and her tone was unwelcoming, making what should have been a straightforward transaction unnecessarily uncomfortable. This unfortunate interaction not only tarnished our shopping experience but also left us feeling demeaned and disrespected. Joann's has long been a favored destination for our crafting needs; however, this experience has severely shaken our confidence in the store. We hope that management will take serious steps to address this behavior, ensuring that all customers are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.
Overpriced, tired of the app holding regards only to online orders so in store shoppers are notified of a 25% total purchase coupon only to find it doesn't apply to them. They used to carry so much more of a selection of everything but now I guess they are more online as most stores cater to customer service wise. But I still go there as a source of fabric just wish everything in the world was what it used to be. Online shopping does not compare to in person.
Went there for the first time and I loved this place. It has a great amount of all kinds of things related to craft, sewing, jewelry making etc.
Im a novice at sewing. Im basically starting off by repairing or modifying clothing I already own. I bought a dress online from the UK and it was too small. So I cut the dress at the waist. I can fit the skirt but the top wasnt big enough and also a bit short. So my plan is to sew a few ruffles at the bottom and front to give that extra space I need. The store is well organized and I fell in love with the selection of fabrics. I can see sewing turning into a full time hobby. There are so many wonderful things to buy at this store. Even if you are not a creative person, go here anyway, because you will be inspired! So once I selected my fabric the store associate cut the amount I needed. And what was even more awesome, she gave me some advice on my project which I absolutely loved. I will continue to shop at JoAnns
i haven't even left the store yet!! Dawn is seriously kind and helpful thank you!
I had the absolute worst experience today with an online pickup order. My cashier, Andrea, had such a bad attitude and it was clear she just didn't want to be there. My order wasn't ready so I left and came back. It still wasn't ready an hour later. I offered to just go grab the item myself, which apparently I grabbed the wrong color. This time I had the pleasure of dealing with Nora, who was just plain hateful. She brought the correct thread, handed it to me and just walked off. She said absolutely nothing to me, not "here you go", not "have a nice day". Absolutely nothing. I was floored and have never been treated so poorly as a customer in my entire life. I truly don't understand why people like this work in customer service. I won't be back to this location, ever.
Yesterday I visited the Christiana Town Center location to pickup my online order. While there, I saw a pair of very nice wind chimes they were the only two left in that particular style. Today I decided to take advantage of the sale and purchase the two online, along with some fabric, and pick them up today as well. The Joann app stated that there were still only two left of that particular style of wind chime. Within 10 minutes of placing my order and receiving my confirmation email, the wind chimes were cancelled. I reluctantly purchased two alternates. My orders were ready & three hours after I placed my orders, I went to the store to pick them up. I happened to go back over to the area where I saw the wind chimes yesterday and the same two that I originally ordered, that were cancelled, were still sitting in the exact same spot they were at yesterday. I grabbed the two & brought them to the front, where my purchases were. Mind you, there are only three employees at the store and two of them were at the front. I asked them why the wind chimes were cancelled when they are right here. One of them responded "Maybe they were in the back when you placed your order". I told her that I was at the store yesterday and the same two were exactly where I found them two minutes ago. And I placed my order a few hours ago. The other girl processed the exchange. No apology was given. Guess one of them wanted to save them for herself. Since these people have proven themselves to be untrustworthy, I'll be shopping at the nearby Hobby Lobby from now on.
