This was a great place for lunch and a hidden gem of a place for a first time Charlotte visitor. I ate the steak and chicken burrito bowl. Really enjoyed the Cheeriwine don't have that in Louisiana. Thank you Chris and owner Johnny for your delicious fresh-Mex! Look forward to finding more great Charlotte discoveries during my stay here. 5 of 5 stars!!!
Was wandering around the city for something to eat on my first day visiting Charlotte, NC. Found this lovely hidden gem and you know what they say when they are hidden in a nook, it was amazingly delicious. The vibe itself and the people were friendly! Their catchy phrase and energy will draw you in. The burritos are big and refreshing than others I’ve tried. They are welcoming to first visitors in their store! If I ever get a chance to visit Charlotte again, I’m going straight to this place again and inviting some friends.
Tried this place while visiting Charlotte for a convention. Only took a few minutes to walk here from Charlotte convention center. The line looked long, but moved quickly. There was a guy that came through the line, handed out “rookie” cards for first time customers and explained the ordering process, which was very helpful. Was a little daunting to keep up the ordering pace, but everyone including Johnny himself was so friendly and I didn’t feel terribly rushed. The food is DELICIOUS. Definitely a fun and satisfying experience.
Food was great! Being your own boss of ingredients including meat for one price was super cool. Could have done without the wondering eyes and drool from the men working there though.
Freaking love this place. Burritos are huge! Prices are fair especially for the portion. Owner is super friendly retired military. They have Sundrop slushies all sorts of drinks and snacks too. It's chipotle/cava style you go down the line and pick your ingredients for your burrito. The chicken and the steak are a really good combo in a burrito. The guacamole is ok. Lots of toppings to choose and everything tastes very fresh. Big downside is they're only open until 3pm weekdays. I would kill to get one of these burritos late night! Couldn't even get a pic because I couldn't wait to get into this burrito.
Three stars for the service, portions and price. The rice is always bland, but the meat is always good. This place is seriously overrated. It’s not a bad place, but it’s not exceptional either. Good people and there’s lots of options but the flavors are whitewashed for the usual suspects city workers, constructions crews with a few corporate types thrown in. If they could improve the beans, rice and tortilla chips then I think they would be worthy of people overrating of five stars and I genuinely mean that. I want to see them continue to succeed but they need to bring the food up to the standards of authentic Mexican food. Mexican food is AWESOME and Johnny Burritos food is not awesome, it’s just OK to Fair….
Bar NONE, Johnny Burrito is THE BEST!!!! No one comes close! The staff is personable and friendly, the food is amazing!! I recommend everyone go to Johnny Burrito - hours are 11am to 3pm Monday through Friday -- "refills are free -- we're here 'til 3!" Dietary restrictions: I have the option to pick my food a la carte with the great selections!!
Delicious and tasty food! I saw the amazing reviews and when I ordered the regular chicken burrito and at first it looked underwhelming. However when I bit into it, the burrito tasted amazing. I will definitely order the Big Burrito next time!
Good burritos, fun atmosphere even though there isn't room to sit, good service, and adorable baby moonpies!
AMAZING experience. This was my first visit, and I was greeted by Johnny who explained the system, gave me a rookie gift, and told me how to eat my burrito. Johnny is friendly and down to earth. The burrito itself was perfection, and all the flavors melded together nicely. One of the best burritos I have ever eaten.
