I was offered a position as a paralegal/office manager and was hired to organize the office. The duties of the position never materialized. The secretarial/paralegal/other office workers who worked at the office were unprofessional, vulgar and arrived at the office at all different hours. The office manager wore an iPod all the time. After two weeks, the "office manager" they had, told me that I "wasn't a good fit for the job" and they "didn't have time to train me" and wanted "someone full time". All these issues were addressed at my interview. The partners knew I did not have foreclosure experience, but didn't seem to mind because I was going to be the Office Manager. The partners were aware of these circumstances and were willing to have me work part time until I finished school. In addition, I felt I was discriminated against because the girls there spoke Spanish and spoke to each other in their native language, so therefore, I was unable to understand them.
