5 stars is just not enough. By far the best restaurant during my visit. This place was recommended by people I know. The overall experience was awesome. We had the best table in the restaurant. We sat by the chef's table and watched the cooks make the food. The waitress Shelia was the best. We order several dishes 6 in a group and the food was delicious. Just be prepared to be in a coma.
I ate here when I was in New Orleans for work. Local foodie I was working with suggested the place. Ordered off menu, which I never do. Got the soup trio as a starter, but they only had two on the menu that night. Gumbo and turtle soup. Both were excellent, but the turtle soup stood out. Great, clean, thin beef stock. For my main course I got the surf and turf. Red fish with crawfish dressing and a filet with debris gravy. The red fish was amazing. Best fish I had in NOLA. I also wouldn't ever put gravy over steak, but debris gravy is unique and delicious. Steak was medium rare. Would recommend this place. Some bread comes as well, but it's not a stand out.
This was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life.... seriously. That stuff pork chop was cooked perfection and had three different types of cheeses in it. I experienced a few perfect bites. Sublime. Glorious. So on the second night in town, we went back to the place. It was so incredibly delicious we thought about it all day. The food was perfect again. The seafood, in a class by itself. One of our favorite places to eat in America!
Absolutely five stars from beginning to end. The food and service were top notch and the atmosphere was classy but casual. Claudia our server went the extra effort making for a very nice dinner. My husband ordered the Cajun martini and yes it was spicy, but he loved it. The bread basket won my heart with carrot pecans muffins, corn bread muffins, and fresh baked rolls with one being jalapeño! Hate to admit it, but we at all of them! We started with the roasted Gouda cheese sausage with creole sauce and had the Caesar salad and the roasted pear, pecan and bleu cheese salad. For my entree I had the blackened beef tenders and my husband had the salmon. Both cooked to perfection exactly how we asked them be prepared. Sadly we had no room for dessert, but would have ordered the bread pudding it looked delicious. K Paul’s is definitely a place you must visit while in NOLA. Jackets are not required.
What a historical classic. Please enjoy their world famous blackened steaks someday in your life. I couldn't believe how impressed I was with my first bite. You can watch the chefs creating culinary excellence and all the while the smells and aroma surrounded me. Every dish was excellent and exceeded expectations. Meats so tender they melt in your mouth but the blackened crust bit you oh so well. The stuffed pork was out of this world, and well the gumbo... Please get a cup. Thank me later in gift cards!!! Happy eating!!!
Excellent dining experience with 5 star quality of food and service. Top notch restaurant. I had the eggplant creole dish. It was delicious and very unique. Tasted similar to a chicken parmesan because of the sauce and parmesan cheese. Also had a nice spicy margarita. Our server was a lady who moved there a month ago, sorry forgot name. But great service. Thanks!
The most delicious food I have put in my mouth!!!! It was so difficult to decide what to eat from the menu. It is very satisfying knowing everything is extremely fresh since there is no refrigerator in the restaurant. We even got to have our picture taken with a couple of the chefs in the kitchen!! There are recipes on the tablecloth and on the artwork on the walls. It was such a wonderful experience!!!! Our meal was worth every penny! I wish i could give this place 10 stars!
The food, service and atmosphere were all very pleasing. Charlie was our server and gave great recommendations and answered all our questions. My 15 yo son didn’t travel with me for this trip but had previously been here was insistent that we go to get his favorite stuffed crabs. Unfortunately they were seasonal. We had the turtle soup, gumbo, fried crab fingers, stuffed pork chop, sweet potato pecan pie, creme brûlée and bread pudding. Everything was divine. I packed most of my streak to go back to the hotel. I woke up in the middle of the night and ate my cold steak and unbelievably it was still sooo good and the flavor was mmm divine. From there I went into a most enjoyable food coma. I will continue to give patronage to K-Paul’s. I have never been disappointed.
For finer dining in the French Quarter, K-Pauls creates some of the better dishes. I had the salmon on with a cream sauce. The pork chop also is noteworthy. The server did a nice job of pairing a delicious wine and provided attentive service. K-Pauls offers dishes you expect from New Orleans. I will return.
One of the more reknowned restaurants in the French Quarter that I never had a chance to go to when I lived here. Now I had the blackened drum and turtle soup. Both are pictured and tasted great. The waiter and waitress I had were great because I spilled my tea and they knew already that Im a clutz... So no biggie. But everything was good. I will have to have a drink here sometime
