Great restaurant to dine in and taste the local cuisine of NOLA. During the visit, we had a very attentive server and with great recommendations. We ended up deciding for some chard grilled oysters, and the fish and chips sandwich which I both recommend. The quality and ambience is very suited for resting at the local pace and the quality of the food is very well achieved. I would it here without regrets. Enjoy!
Came here with a group of 10 and actually was surprised at how quickly we got seated because it was so close to the parades that day! Good: I really liked the sampler dish that came with 4 different cups of dishes - my favorite was probably the Jambalaya out of them. I really liked the broiled oysters since they had a really good cheesy savory flavor. The raw oysters weren't too bad either. I also liked the blue crab claws since they were really unique for a dish. Bad: The fried alligator basically tasted like popcorn chicken so it wasn't too special. The hush puppies were also really small so I think they weren't a good value in the end. There were probably too many beans too in the sampler so it was all pretty similar and a lot of rice. Overall I think this place delivered on making us super full and also giving a good authentic New Orleans experience.
WRITE HOME ABOUT THIS ONE!!! This place is so good. It’s busy so beware you may have to wait, however, while waiting remember - IT’S WORTH THE WAIT. Oysters were huge - dirty outside shells but that’s part of the allure. The blackened redfish was insanely good. Get it with the lump crab on top - not a lot but it adds flavor. I had it without the jambalaya - I know - but the green beans were incredible. No idea the seasoning but I’ve been talking about them for two days. . . And I don’t like green beans! Seriously, this is a must try. Wait staff and door staff were great - fun to hang with while you’re waiting. Sat on the balcony and it moved a lot - even leaned “naturally” but it was a nice experience.
The food was really great. I’m not an oyster lover but I liked it. The bread pudding was amazing as well. The problem was the service. I needed to ask for the silverware each time, when I got food. Might because of the New Year’s Eve? Everything was pretty slow. That’s why I ran out of my patience and only ordered a few food.
Outstanding! We were walking around site seeing and popped in for lunch. The staff was super friendly and the food was delicious. Voodoo juice, old fashioned, sampler and chargrilled oysters. So good!
The oysters and poo boy were great. My company had the steak and they thought it was delicious as well. Nice upstairs place with a cool balcony. Downstairs also very well designed and a good bar area.Food: 4/5
About a 40 minute wait before service. Dining experience in the front, nice spot for people-watching. Dinner was fairly good, just wish our young waitress was a bit more attentive. She didn't inquire on how our meal was nor were we offered refills on our beverages.
The food was SO good. Not going to lie, that we have struggled finding a great New Orleans place to eat, but this place did amazing. The food was hot and fresh. The staff was very friendly, and place was clean. We got the Lobster ravioli, the cajun sampler, and jambalaya. I would come back here in a heart beat!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: Yes
Pros: We were impressed by the food here! Best tasting food we had while in New Orleans. We would definitely return if I’m ever in the New Orleans area and will recommend it to my friends and family. Cons: Food took forever to come out, we waited about 25-30 mins for food items to come out on a Monday night, it wasn’t packed or super busy. Also, the bathrooms downstairs are tiny no big deal. *I really wanted to rate this restaurant a 5 star but the wait times were a downer. Our server, was super friendly and very nice - I wish I remembered her name she was the young lady with braces working upstairs on the evening of 5/30 the rest of the staff wasn’t very friendly and had poor customer service skills. Make sure to get the charbroiled oysters and the Cajun Bloody Mary!
Not sure how this place had over a 4+ star rating, oysters came out dirty AF I had to wash my own oysters at the table with my glass of water to clean them, charbroiled oysters came out and there was hair baked into the garlic bread, I ordered the taste of new orleans and it was extremely salty. First time in New Orleans and first meal in New Orleans and was not impressed at all, lots of homeless people everywhere. Waitress was very nice and did a good job so I have no complaints on that end.
